Martin Bakole vs Carlos Takam

Post by jwfg »

I think this will be the fight of the night. I expect Takam to put in on him early, Bakole to level it up by round eight, then it will come down to conditioning and desire. My head tells me Bakole all day long, but my gut gives Takam a decent chance due to styles. Who ya got?

Billy, if you're reading this, what sort of weight will we see Martin come in at?

Yeah there are some really good fights on this undercard.

I expect Bakole to deal with Takam similar but maybe later than how Joe Joyce dealt with him.

Why oh why can't they get the Hunter rematch on? I won't be able to sleep properly again until they do.

It's not a ticket seller, but would be an excellent chief support for something. Suppose it depends on how much Hunter would want. It ended pretty one sided last time.

How do you see the Bakole-Takam fight going, funso?

Bakole for me. Takam probably just past his best although he looked good bashing up Tony Yoka last time out. Strangely boxrec still don't have this event on the calendar

Good money, keeps him busy.

Will Maritn ever get to fight a contender in Scotland?

I doubt it, nobody's really putting on shows on Scotland these days, i respect Billy Nelson's hussle but he should've jumped at the Hunter rematch, they've never been interested

Bakole by late stoppage, quite a while since Takam was a danger.

Definitely, especially with his style/size having to come forward and take a lot of shots to get his own work off, seriously tough guy mind. Glad he beat Yoka.

Oh good, like to see Bakole out ( him and Billy have given boxxer short shrift in the press ) Takam is about 10 years past the sell by date, so I’m expecting him to get clobbered by about round seven.

If you’ve got any sense as his manager, you’re not putting him anywhere near a hunter rematch, I mean who wants to relive a near death experience?
He’s got bigger fish to fry. It’s not so hard to win a heavyweight title these days. Ask Daniel Dubois
