Used to watch all his fights (or his IBF world title defences) on the German free-to-air channel RTL back in the 90's. Do you have a hard time watching him like I did back in the day? He would break down fighters with this methodical, economical style but the Germans were mad about him and there would be these two hour documentaries about him before his fights and they were all massive stadium sell outs - never understood it but watched him anyway because it was - hey, free boxing on the telly! :yay:

 Yeh he was a pretty hard watch I must say, id seen both Virgil Hill fights and both Graciano Rocchigiani fights as well as the Iran Barkley one, can't say any stick out, Maske is a tidy stand up southpaw though, didn't he medal at Olympics as well?

Speaking of Prince Charles Williams.....

Prince Charles Williams v Bobby Czyz I

Getting up from that thunderous knockdown and fighting back skilfully, has to be admired.

Lloyd Honeyghan vs Maurice Blocker
Considering what Blocker went onto achieve - which was vey decent indeed - that has to be the "other big win" on Lloyd's resume and not too far off the Curry fight.

He was called the Thin Man (I think) but even as a kid watching the fight Blocker looked like a solid-strong dude and Honeyghan had his work cut out trying to get inside the jab, but also getting any kind of edge with the close quarters stuff.

Maybe I am over-reading things but because Honeyghan had quickly taken-out another tall, rangy 6 foot American (Bumphus) I am guessing Duff felt that Blocker was another serving which Lloyd would lap-up?

Adrian Dodson vs Lloyd Honeyghan
A rather sad end for an UD Brit champ, Dodson only had to land something half-heavy for Lloyd to wobble/shake.
The wheels badly came off for Lloyd I am afraid.

I can recall a bit before this fight, Lloyd had been seemingly rebuilding quite nicely as a LM after the Pazienza fight and Dodson was very talented but had been operating many, many levels below what Honey was used to.

It was a real "what gives" contest, also a pretty brutal bit of matchmaking for both fighters!

Dodson was in with someone very serious indeed - who might get a second wind - and properly beat him up. Llloyd was in a fast kid on the rise who hit cleanly and had a heap of elusive skills.

But looking back at the the ITV coverage it seems clear Lloyd was on the wane physically and also trying to fight like the guy who'd been seven bells out of Jorge Vaca in March 1998. And that was a step too far.
