What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
Im reading a few things online now where people are saying Fury did win (close) and maybe people were jumping on the bandwagon that he lost as it was such an unexpected result. I’ve still to see it but will try and watch later. So if you scored it properly what scorecard you have?

Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
Didn't score it specifically but I gave Ngannou atleast 4 rounds which would give him the draw. So I probably would have scored it for Ngannou if I was scoring each round.

If Ngannou won 4 rounds then he lost by a point. If he won 5 then he won by a pt. It might be a situation where a draw was the best outcome but impossible to arrive at mathematically. So officially Fury is the victor, on to the next one. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

I had Fury winning but that blatant elbow deserved a point off

Well there you go. Tyson ended up winning by one round on the scorecards. Subtract that point for the elbow and I have my draw. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Didn't look like intentional. More of a crooked cross, which failed to land properly.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 07:09 I had Fury winning but that blatant elbow deserved a point off
Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
Using Gratest’s 12 point Must system I scored it -98 : - 120
Or something like that.
Give it to the bloke who trained and was professional tbh!
Fury did nothing apart from a few Hollywood jab flicks. Leaning on didn’t work. He’s done. Now the reality sinks in.
He never really was. Was he?

Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
seems like most people bought into the narrative and expected fury to do whatever he wanted until the ko was there so didnt bother scoring it .
very few " experts " and ex boxers have come down on furys side

Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
I had fury by 1 or 2 points
Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
Can someone remind me why Fury seems to be so disliked in this forum?

one of the biggest and most proven human biases is making judgements that fit with our preconceptions (confirmation bias). the whole 'people only scored for ngannou because they expected the opposite to happen' makes less sense and just seems a way for people who had a fury card to defend it

That's true.
That's why everyone that was rooting for Ngannou scored it for Ngannou.

Remove all emotions, and simply watch who connects and lands more punches.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:24 one of the biggest and most proven human biases is making judgements that fit with our preconceptions (confirmation bias). the whole 'people only scored for ngannou because they expected the opposite to happen' makes less sense and just seems a way for people who had a fury card to defend it
Fury's the winner.

Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
fury's punches were utter garbage quality. powerless flicks that hit air. ironically all the quality came from the guy who'd never boxed. it was a close fight, i have no problem with decision going either way.gilgamesh wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:28Remove all emotions, and simply watch who connects and lands more punches.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:24 one of the biggest and most proven human biases is making judgements that fit with our preconceptions (confirmation bias). the whole 'people only scored for ngannou because they expected the opposite to happen' makes less sense and just seems a way for people who had a fury card to defend it

Re: What did you score Fury vs Ngannou fight?
Ngannou just by finishing each round, and looking reasonably competitive in them looked good for a guy in his Pro debut in every round.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:28no, it means they'd score based on what they expected to happen. rooting for ngannou doesnt mean they expected him to get the better of things
I suspect he's been working on his Boxing skills for many years before making the full switch to the sport like he did here, but any way you wanna slice it Ngannou did exceptionally well here, and I think he's the exception, not the rule. I don't think you're gonna start seeing MMA guys regularly doing this in Boxing.

A light jab or right hand that connects means more than a big punch that misses.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:31fury's punches were utter garbage quality. powerless flicks that hit air. ironically all the quality came from the guy who'd never boxed. it was a close fight, i have no problem with decision going either way.gilgamesh wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:28Remove all emotions, and simply watch who connects and lands more punches.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 13:24 one of the biggest and most proven human biases is making judgements that fit with our preconceptions (confirmation bias). the whole 'people only scored for ngannou because they expected the opposite to happen' makes less sense and just seems a way for people who had a fury card to defend it

The biggest bias comes from a need to fit in, to follow the herd. If you're told something is so, you tend to believe it. You can see it played out in psychological experiments again and again.
