Can anyone here verify whether this was true or not and how do you think this would have gone in '77 at 140?
Duran fought once more at 135 after this date against Dejesus for the last time before moving up 2 weights to 147.
Personally I think Duran would have won by UD or late KO. I haven't watched their fight in '82 for a few years but from memory it was a snore-fest.
The Benitez v Curry bout went El Radar's way by SD but Curry had him down twice in the 5th & once in the 6th and probably should have got the decision though Benitez did finish the stronger and showed great heart to come back from the knockdowns.
Incidentally, I've heard that the Bruce Curry v Monroe Brooks fight in '78 was a great bout and if anyone has a DVD copy that they'd like to trade for something then give me a PM.
