his autobiography is worth a read, very self deprecating. His father was very famous, interesting upbringing Louis had.
Paul Theroux is my favourite author. A really interesting & intelligent man. He brought back modern day travel writing.

Happy Isles of Oceania is my personal favourite book of his.

He is a beautiful writer. I love The Kingdom by the Sea and The Great Railway Bazaar. His essays are really wonderful, too.

Have you read Living in 'Sir.Vidia's Shadow', where he tears into V.S.Naipaul? It's an epic takedown.

I watched Halm Moon Street then found it was an adaptation of one of his books and got into reading his work that way.

Theroux tried to get some truth out of Saville with the allegations about him when he was filming him. The least he could have done with Joshua is broach the BLM speech he made to at least to gauge a reaction. That would have been a lot less toxic than the questions he posed to Saville.

finished watching it now, AJ comes across well, there's some vulnerability there which I did not expect to see, best bit was him going back to his old house and also at his aunties. He also spoke well about helping people financially as in not minding people needing help.

Totally agree
I’m not a fan of his, boxing wise.
But
He’s a human like us all. He’s got his foibles but I don’t see any lying in him.

Yeah I agree with you watched it with the Mrs last night, though Louis was a bit of a prick at times but AJ kept his cool with him.

I agree mate. Gareth Davies managed to be annoying in the 30 seconds he featured. I laughed that Chisora got himself in it.

he was wasn't he, he's always managed to be a bit of a prick at times and manage not to get punched despite interviewing some absolute loons like KKK, mad Bible people, and so on. It's quite a feat.

I beg to differ. He definitely made the speech. It's controversial. Theroux should have challenged it like he challenged Saville. Isn't that what these people are meant to do. I remember reading what Fury said about it, in terms of him making similar comments. He said he wouldn't hear the end of it. Why does Joshua get immunity and a free pass. What about threatening to crack students' jaws in Loughborough. It's the BBC and Theroux being too lightweight.

id totally forgot about that speech, ya it could'v'e been mentioned but tbh i dont think it's really that big of a thing to cover. the allegations against saville were much more notable and a larger part of the public perception around him, it would be a far bigger oversight not to touch on those than a couple lines at a blm rally that most people dont think about any more

So tell me why the speech isn't controversial then, and should be air brushed into non-existence.

i think most people are past it and just don't really care much anymore tbh. 3 years ago he said to shop in black owned businesses, it's not comparable to decades worth of allegations of sexually abusing children

Joshua came across as somewhat delusional to me, he's trying desperately to convince himself he's not that bothered about it all.

I think he's pretty much done, the confidence will never return.

Basically, the press have buried it, and that's saved him, because they could ruin you. As I mentioned about Fury, if he'd made comparable comments he'd be finished and Fury knows it. Joshua has had a bit of good fortune, a bit like his boxing career. It must be remembered that speech was made during a highented part of UK's history and he should have known better. Parts of it were definitely Inflammatory. I agree Theroux should have addressed it, and it's not Joshua's fault he didn't. I think we may have seen a different side to the interview if he did, and that is balance. That speech was not minor, it happened and it was said. I would say to Joshua don't take my hard earned money paying for tickets and PPV's and insult people. That's a fair analogy.

I think most would agree that Fury made worse comments than AJ has yet clearly isn’t finished.
