Ken Buchanan of Scotland was champion in all levels of pro competition. He was Scotland, British, European and World Lightweight Champion that was a slick boxer with a fast left jab. He had tremendous stamina, will and determination. He had very fast hands.
The great Alexis Arguello of Nicaragua, the Explosive Thin Man, is one of boxing's all time greatest champions and superb KO artists. He never lost his world championship belts in his 3 reigns at featherweight, Jr lightweight and lightweight, winning 19 world title fights in a row in a span of 8 years.
He had a helluva punch, concentration, will, strength and determination and knew to pick his spots in a fight. He was very composed.
I will pick Buchanan on this one by decision. Arguello had always problems with movers.

Re: Lightweights: Ken Buchanan vs Alexis Arguello
Another very tough one to predict.
Arguello would have to catch Buchanan, and more than once, or a few times.
Stylistically I think Buchanan would have Arguello's number and would likely pull off the win.
It'd be a Close decision though.
Arguello may very well score a knockdown or two as well.
