I'd drop him a few places for that. He'll be ranked below the guy he best 3 years ago. What a career trajectory

Ruthless-RKO
We doing a complete makeover!

Please, post your top 15, I'll leave the scoring system here:

1. 20 points
2. 18 points
3. 16 points
4. 15 points
5. 14 points
6. 13 points
7. 12 points
8. 10 points
9. 9 points
10. 8 points
11. 7 points
12. 6 points
13. 5 points
14. 4 points
15. 3 points

I’ll keep a tally as we go along. Will be giving an update after we have several votes, to give us an idea of what our new ranking looks like.

Ruthless,

Enough people have voted. We are waiting for the ratings and the Saudi's to waive some more money at the fighters.

Let have some of your rated guys facing each other please. Not Fury vs. a 0-0 boxer, or Wilder jerking people, or some 40 year old Chinaman beating up over rated, old Englishmen. We have seen enough of that.

The oil belt is waiting. You known the one that really pays.

It's one of the issues with a points system and a small sample size. Not Ruthless-RKO's fault at all. Just what happens.

Basically it only takes a handful of people to have a ridiculously high ranking for a fighter, and it can completely change the bottom end. I saw something similar where a guy was taking votes to make historical P4P lists. One guy kept voting Roy Jones Junior and Mike Tyson #1 for everything haha

Maybe try asking on the British board as well to increase the sample size.

Going close with number 1 (now number 2) shows much more than chinning 20 top 500s and a couple of top 50s.

I’d rather support that than supporting guys being too 10 but consistently fighting guys outside the top 200…. Frank.

i dont have ngan top 15, but i can understand the logic. you can argue he deserved a win over someone most people would've had #1 or #2. if someone thought he edged the fight, it makes sense theyd have him fairly high. its obviously an unusual situation

Personally what I find more surprising, is that so many have Fury at #2 when he just went life and death with Ngannou.

I think if you have Fury at #2 you have to rank Ngannou top 15. And vice versa if you don't rank Ngannou, you have to drop Fury down the list.

I'd love to hear the argument why people believe Fury should still be number #2 after getting a controversial SD against a debutant boxer in a registered professional fight. But the opponent isn't worth ranking.

I might disagree with ranking Fury #2 and Ngannou Top #5 but there is at least a logical consistency in those rankings.

Might I suggest we do a separate vote for positions #14 and #15. There is a clear problem at the bottom end of the table. Which we knew already to be fair.

Rules were set and no one’s done anything stupid like putting ddd or nganu number 1. I’d say just keep it. 14/15 will disappear pretty quick with any good win from the guys bellow then, or an activity from Whyte, wilder, Ruiz, ect.

My interpretation was that our rankings were always democratic in that one person's voice had the same weight as another. Though I recognize in a sense, they do, because as you say there was nothing in theory stopping me from voting Chisora #1.

But,

5 people want Ngannou ranked in the top 15. (30% of the vote)
9 people want Wardley ranked in the top 15. (50% of the vote)
7 people want Chisora ranked etc.

Just to be clear I don't have a horse in the race on the above three. Ngannou hasn't got a win to his name. Wardley is still fighting domestic level opposition. Chisora looks shot to bits. But it seems like the rules are being gamed quite a bit by some shouting louder than others.

You could redo your vote and put Wardley and Chisora as 1 & 2 and not rank Ngannou at all. I'm sure some people vote in a tactical way like this, especially at the top, so it wouldn't be that ridiculous.

No, you and gregregegg are right. If I'm being honest with myself, I am just still salty at Fury for making such a meal of it all.

If Ngannou has some more fights and wins, it will look a lot less embarrassing for boxing. I just have to suck it up and accept that the sport may or may not recover from that fight. We will have to wait and see.

As Ruthless-RKO says above, Ngannou may well turn into a welcome addition.

In my mind, I thought based on his stellar performance against Fury, who on the list would he beat. And after the top three, it's slim pickings :verysad:
