Whittaker by decision. 8-4 type of bout.

At Welterweight, the Cobra by decision.

I lean toward Whitaker by decision. It would probably be very hard to score, like Sweet Pea's match against DLH. The big difference between this pair is that Whitaker was almost impossible to hit with a clean shot.

McGirt wqs landing good right hands on Whitaker in their first bout and he had no left hook to up with. I don't think Curry would have a problem finding Whitaker; but I could still see Whitaker winning-tough bout either way imo.

I will pick The Lone Star Cobra over Sweet Pea by knockout.

Before the Lloyd Honeyghan bout, Donald Curry was special. He was supposed to be the great Sugar Ray Leonard's heir apparent. But he failed to the billing.

"Donald Curry" and "Greg Page" were rather reminiscent, when it came down to how they're boxing careers ultimately wound up becoming. Whittaker was That Very Special Next Level type though. Curry wasn't adaptable enough to beat SweetPea.

50-50 type bout.

Curry would be the toughest opponent of Whittaker's career.

Hard to bet against Pernell but Curry's combination of skill, speed and power were top drawer. I'd lean towards Curry...

Curry at his best could've given Whitaker all he could handle for sure. I could easily see this being a Split decision that could go either way, and if I had to bet I'd bet it goes Curry's way.

Curry beat Marlon Starling by split decision in 12 rounds and unanimous decision in 15 rounds. Starling was the best welterweight later in his career. I think Starling should be in the HOF. Curry was inducted in 2019. Curry was rated one of the best pound for pound in the mid 1980s.

Donald Curry in his prime was rated as the best fighter in the world with Marvelous Marvin Hagler withstanding.

Donald by UD, or possible late round stoppage.
