Has the public turned on Tyson? talkSPORT phone in.

Post by Frostieballs »

talkSPORT holding a phone in on the subject following his shenanigans yesterday.

People also pretty vocal on his past comments (I will fight for free... I want a half a billy). His contradictions have largely been unremarked on before in the mainstream media, but I guess the accumulation effect is in play.

Lot of people saying they want Usyk to win.

Have “the public” turned on Tyson Fury?
A long time ago my friend.
It’s beyond words now.

He was loved by most, myself included, when he came back and fought wilder. Now he just tells lies and acts like a right tit. Yesterday was probably the worst he's behaved. I want Usyk to win and I think most do too, he's a decent guy.

Most fans that I know don't watch the press events or follow social media.

If it's on the radio then they'll know about it.

This forum will be empty if Fury wins!

Or will it be like, well Fury was always going to win as he is too big, too heavy, a bully on the inside, knows how to manhandle a fella on the inside and wear him out

Or is this just a popularity contest?

Not really. Are people meant to just stay quiet because they think he's an extrenely dislikeable twat nowadays?(although it could be argued he's always been like that, just hidden it before).
Despite thinking he's a twat, i'd still pick him to beat Joshua and there are others who still pick him to beat Usyk, despite thinking he's a twat.

No problem with folk saying that they don't like the fella, just find it strange that this leads many folk to say he can't fight!

I think hearts are beginning to rule people's head

Oh. He can fight alright.
Needs some special training though between now and Feb.
The guy in with Ngannou gets his handed to him.

It’s the pantomime that pi$$es people off.
This fight doesn’t need it coz it sells itself.

I don’t care (and doubt fury does) I just wanna see him fight Usyk.

He’s just been voted worlds sexiest sports star so there must be some who like him.

I know the posts you're referring to and they were a bit OTT, but no-one's done any of that on this thread, just pointed out his popularity has plummeted and he's came across as conning the public of late. That's also made a lot switch to favoring Usyk, and hoping he wins. Their behaviour and demeanors couldn't be more different, although Usyk has shown that he enjoys a bit of a wind up as well, albeit more lowkey.
He was acting more like his dad (often referred to as an embarrassment by many) in this presser, and seems a lot more triggered, certainly not his usual wind up with a smirk self.

Prior to the Ngannou fight, back at the start of last year, I'd have the fight against Usyk as being close, maybe just slightly in Usyk's favour. I think Fury's attitude, desire and physical ability to train and carry out a fight plan has changed since then though, and now have it more in Usyk's favour. I'm certainly not going to disappear from the forum though if Fury wins, as I've been wrong plenty of times before, and will be wrong a lot more times, this possibly being one of them.

2000 UK women answered a questionnaire on a dating app with allegedly 1.5m members.

I laughed that they even brought it up. To be fair to Fury, he played it off as a bit of fun.

That version of Fury is the one people rally behind, less so the one at the face off

Might happen, but his behaviour's a separate thing and he's destroyed his once-enviable popularity by himself. I don't know if Usyk can win, but I want him to.

By some it will. He's Johnified himself too much for me, I think.

Unless he beats Usyk and wants a few more historic fights. Be that Joshua, Zhang, Joyce, Makh, Jalolov, Anderson, Ruiz or whomever. I'd have more respect for him even if he lost for trying.

So far it's a bit like Calzaghe's career with Froch's mouth.
