quitschko lacks toughess. if vitali made it that far......then he can make it through the last 2 rounds. think of the circumstances.......he had the fight won, feathe fisted bryd stood no chance of knocking out vitali so there was no risks, and vitali was champion defending his title! wheres the warrior mentality? doesnt the championship mean something?

you think marciano thought about quitting when his nose was cut open running like a faucet? u think it didnt hurt? imagine if marciano quit cause the "pain" was too much.

quitschko was slow, he had bad defense, he threw uncoordinated arm punches and lacked one punch KO power, he lacks toughness, he is very unproven, and he is a sucker for right hands with that low left and standing straight up.

tyson would nail him with that right hand and then finish him off later in the same round. vitali never beat anyone close to the all around skill and punching abilities of a peak mike tyson

you critisize marciano for beating old men walcott and moore......but these old men were in great shape when they fought marciano. even joe louis was in very good shape for his age when he fought rocky.

38 year old lennox was way out of shape(257lb a career high) when he fought VK.

39 year old corrie sanders was way out of shape(235lb) and hyperventaliting after 2 rounds when he fought vitali.

so vitali was fighting men that were not only old, they were also fat and out of shape

I'm not comparing Vitali to Marciano. Marciano is a top 15 all-time HW and a legend. Vitali is at best top 40 or top 50, and he won't make the history books as much more than the crude, tall, hard-hitting Ukrainian with a PhD who gave old Lennox a tough fight and who took over the #1 sport for a couple of years when the heavyweight division was at a low point.

Prime Tyson would destroy both Klitschko’s, on consecutive nights even. As nervous as Wlad is before and during bouts he would probably pass out in the dressing room and have to be wheeled out in a wheel-chair and then do his best Bruce Seldon impersonation...Vitali might last two, maybe three rounds, but Tyson would knock his big ass out in pretty quick fashion as well.

I don't remember Vitali ever establishing himself as number 1. Wins over Corrie Sanders, Kirk Johnson and Danny Williams are fine but he never beat Ruiz or Byrd, guys he would have had to beat to claim the number 1 spot.

Marciano is definetly not top 10, he was lucky to be fighting in a very poor crop of HW's and his best wins were old men, and even at that Walcott was ahead on all score cards before he was knocked out by one desperation punch and Moore floored him. Even old man Louis gave Rocky a bit of bothter in the earlier rounds and we also cant forget how LHW Charles gave Rocky a very close fight the first time around.
Hell Larry Holmes's era was freakin more talented than the era Marciano fought in.

Ill pick Vitali to keep the crude Marciano at bay and stop him on cuts.

If you wish. Does it really matter whether you have Marciano #5 or #8 or #10 or #13. He's a legend in any case.

I have trouble believing a 5'9" guy with a 70/71" reach would have an easy time reaching Vitali's chin, not to mention the fact that Vitali has quite a good chin.

I'm gonna go with a decision...

And technically it could go either way...

Both men had somewhat questionable heart... And I would imagine which ever one decided it wasn't going their way first... Would lose the decision.

Chris Byrd didn't have trouble reaching Bitschko's chin. He was backing Quitali up, and he made the Bitch quit. I'm pretty certain Marciano's punches - even if they were just to Bitschko's arms and shoulders - would cause Bitschko enough pain to make him quit again.

Chris Byrd is 6', and that was AFTER Vitali injured his arm.
