Heaney v Bentley

Never watched Heaney box before but one of my mates messaged me and told me to make sure I watched his fight as he is quality.

Really enjoyed that 1930’s style he’s got going on. Hopefully he can go further as he’s a decent entertainer. His corner were very good as well.

He was like a cross between Linares and one of the British Airmen from Allo Allo.

I was a Heaney virgin as well until last night. I kept on waiting for Bentley to clock him as he did look so unorthodox at times, especially the way he moves his legs. But he was very effective against Bentley, mixed it up when needed, and looked like he was enjoying every minute. I'll be tuning in again next time.

Was there any bad blood in the build up to this one? Heaney didn't appear to look near or even acknowledge Bentley after the decision (or not that I noticed?).

Working my way through the weekend's boxing and must admit I didn't see this performance/result coming at all, unorthodox as he is Heaney got the better of the majority of the exchanges and fully deserved to pick up the British title, clearly very dedicated to the sport and his celebrations were nice to see

Really good chat between George, Dec and Heaney. Nathan is one of the best boxers during an interview to be able to explain himself.

I think Heaney's British title win might be one of the most memorable moments of 2023 IMO.
