I'm getting Willie Pep vibes from this old bugger.
Re: Gavin Gwynne vs. Emiliano Masrsili | TNT Sports - 1 December 2023
Yeah, he's very skilled. I don't think Gavin's doing anywhere near as bad as Paul Dempsey says he is.

A shame to finally lose like that after all those fights and years. Ahead on 2 cards.

makes you wonder what he coulda done at a higher level in his prime. won several euro title fights but never pressed beyond there (ibo vs derry doesnt count) to box that well at almost 50 is crazy. The Gratest wrote: ↑01 Dec 2023, 19:15 A shame to finally lose like that after all those fights and years. Re: Gavin Gwynne vs. Emiliano Masrsili | TNT Sports - 1 December 2023
Bummer, Marsili retires on his stool after 8 with an injured shoulder, I didn't even notice did he stop throwing the jab ? What an effort though I had him up by a couple , I thought Gwynne would walk him down and get rid in about 5/6, he did try to walk him down but Marsili moved constantly until it it ended , a couple of times he traded with Gwynne and looked more than fine, rocked him with a big left in the 1st, mostly though he was up on his toes throwing bursts and generally outboxing Gwynne who couldn't really get to grips, couldn't put any consistent work together, odd shots here and here, you kept waiting on Marsili slowing but he never did, insane for a 47 year old, Gwynne probably had best round in the 8th, Marsili still moving but taking more shots, tide might have been turning, would love a rematch

So sorry for Marsili, IMHO he was two points up... but age and fatigue are some darn enemies

I read he was due to fight for the WBC title in 2016 but had to withdraw through illness.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Dec 2023, 19:17makes you wonder what he coulda done at a higher level in his prime. won several euro title fights but never pressed beyond there (ibo vs derry doesnt count) to box that well at almost 50 is crazy. The Gratest wrote: ↑01 Dec 2023, 19:15 A shame to finally lose like that after all those fights and years.
