he's not really a ko artist anyway. usually boxes and moves and counterpunches, with heavy hands that will hurt guys on the counter, but not blast em out power . in this case though mckenna was so stationary he just decide to dig in
Fair enough and I understand about being marketable but trying hard for the KO, inevitably to KO never comes.
Yeah this.
Crock's power is clearly very good - I'm sure he'll get KOs at high level.
Just McKenna really tough, game and experienced enough to fiddle and see it coming and make it to the end.

Maybe not that explosive, but obviously very heavy handed.

Yep, he bossed that fight. But he was trying too hard and it didn't happen for him. Plus all the raving about his power - mainly from his coach in fairness - is getting boring. He's good but no need to overegg it.

the power is the wrong thing to focus on with him. it's the whole athletic package. he has heavy hands but his power comes through most by catching guys with sharp counters, hurting them over the rounds. he's not some tua or wilder guy who just impales guys

I’m amazed you think he has power after that. He threw the kitchen sink at a guy of McKenna’s level and couldn’t put him on the floor let alone come close to stop him.

mckenna is a tough guy, can take a good beating. on the counter crocker can hurt opponents pretty good. a tough gritty guy like louis greene was turned to putty

it's pretty common to see these fights where a hard hitting guy just beats on a passive opponent an cant get him out. callum smith vs vadine biosse for example. wilder coudnt drop duhaupas. beterbiev barely got enrico kolling out of there, etc.

Good points. I’m reserving judgement on his power for now tho.

Gill looks tight and compacted. Decent punching power. Conlan looks a bit nervous and jumpy.

Gill needs to try and not punch himself out. Be smart.
