There is still a vid on YouTube from March 2007, where Miranda calling out then-champion Taylor for a fight.
Couple months later (May 2007), Taylor and Miranda would both appear on the same card. Albeit in separate fights. Taylor fought to a dull SD win over a jr.middleweight Cory Spinks, while Miranda appeared on the wrong end of a slugfest against Kelly Pavlik.
Had Taylor accepted Miranda's challenge and fought him, how it would've gone?

He'd have stopped Edison Miranda. I could see him having some problems with him, and getting shook a few times potentially, but Taylor was a good bit more skilled than Miranda, and I think he'd have beaten Miranda.
It was always an ironic part of Jermain Taylor's title reign that the best he ever looked, and fought as Champion was when he lost to Pavlik.

I don't disagree with that. Though, I think his performance in the 2nd fight against Hopkins is somewhat underrated. Fought a solid fight against a still damn good version of B-Hop. And he didn't really tire down the stretch of that fight the way he used to in a lot of his other fights.gilgamesh wrote: ↑04 Dec 2023, 15:01 He'd have stopped Edison Miranda. Yeah he had a solid performance against Hopkins. They were all just kinda forgettable fights though. Pavlik vs Taylor is one that you remember as a great Middleweight title fight.
The Hopkins-Taylor fights really ain't.
