CBS is woeful. I'll always pick against him from here on out as long as he is at Euro level and pushing on to fringe world level. Masternak is a solid Euro operator and might think Christmas has come early in there with CBS.

European level is woeful?

CBS is a good entertaining fighter. He’s probably overachieved based on his natural ability but that’s not a bad thing and credit to him. I think the Masternak fight is a good one but to claim he’s woeful is daft.

Did you pick Okolie to beat him?

Yes, I bet on CBS there too. Mainly because Okolie is so bad and I thought CBS was the clear better inside fighter and Okolie would get points taken off. CBS also had the benefit of Shane who had completely analysed Okolie for a long time as his trainer. I just CBS is very beatable. He's looked poor in several showings. Rigid and stiff. Game as a badger though. Masternak wins this for me.

CBS is a great example of a boxer making the most of what he has and finding a way to win. He ain't the second coming of Pernell Whitaker, but he gets the job done. I think that because he fights ugly, people underestimate him. He beat Chamberlain and Okolie and whether you like it or not, that makes him a top cruiserweight. If you're a betting mqan, don't bet on Masternak, because he ain't gonna win.

I don't think Masternak's been eating properly. Look at that, there's absolutely no 'Hmmnnnnggghhhf!' effort at all.

Manny Stewart once said that he judged guys on their performance against quality opposition. The last time Mateusz Masternak beat anyone of real quality was when he beat Mormeck and that was 10 years ago. No way he wins this.

ya, masternak is the trademark solid operator who is usually competitive but is going to lose every time he steps up to a fight like this. a bit like martin murray, though murray had more success in his bigger fights than mast has.

iit wasnt long ago either that mast was more focused on the ams again than pro boxing

I agree mags. I'm not what a couple of the posters have been smoking when the say CBS ain't a top ten cruiserweight. I can't make a case for Masternak to win and he hasn't won outside Poland for six years.

I find the BoxRec fight ratings to be quite revealing. This is four star fight. Masternak has contested three such fights in his career and lost them all. CBS has fought one four star fight and won it, last time out.

Bournemouth are playing away on the Saturday so would have impacted tickets if it were on the Saturday.

The Masternak that went hard rounds with Bellew would likely run through Smith, but that was 8 years ago. Smith should win this one with relative ease.

Smith is vulnerable though, but as he has proven many times in the past he gets through it.

Masternak still looked decent in his last couple of fights. His last one was over a year ago though but if he retains the same level, CBS is in trouble here for me.

I expect CBS will win this on points.
Masternak is a tough, solid lump but the wear is starting to show. I think he will win 3, 4, maybe 5 rounds but will fade and be outworked.
How can anyone not like CBS? Sure, not the best boxer, not the strongest puncher etc but decent all around and seems like a sweet guy who has worked hard and had a bit of luck.
