Re: Oleg Maskaev vs. Andrew Golota
It's an interesting fight between two unreliable fighters.
Maskaev can get chinned at any moment.
Golota might start folding apart at any moment.
Overall, Golota is more talented of the two. And probably just an overall better fighter. But Maskaev was mentally stronger and more determined. And had a bigger punch.
Two scenarios that, I think, are very realistic here:
1) I think, if/when Maskaev starts finding home for his straight right hand and a left hook - Golota gets shook and loses the plot.
2) For the first time in his career, Maskaev loses a decision. Golota's temper remains under control (just like against Byrd and Ruiz) and he outboxes slower Maskaev.
Out of the two, I'm leaning more towards the 1st scenario. But Golota's chances to finally (!) put his hands on the belt would've been decent against Maskaev.

This one could go either way, depending on who's having the better or worse night. Both guys were notorious for fighting below their ability level.

Maskaev at his best would stop Golota in the late rounds or Golota would get himself DQ in either way.
