My son has 200 amateur fights, I'd either like them added or his amateur record removed.

Boxrec needs to put the birthdate of the fighters. The birthdates were there before. Why now are they omitted?

Hi, I am a new one here. Got assigned a numeric username and don't see a way to change it to something meaningful. Any suggestions?

I appreciate the site has given users the ability to post scores direct from boxrec to X(Twitter) & Facebook. I was wondering if u could add Instagram if possible. 🥊

when someone has been viewing many records, and gets a captcha in order to continue, they should be taken to the record they selected instead of the main page upon doing the captcha

Makes sense to me. I'd like to have that, too.
fdriver made the suggestion to enhance the search, which seems sensible, too.
But the main question is:

IS THIS FORUM DEAD?

Does BoxRec read, what's going on here? Does anyone care?
BTW, I made a suggestion on page 11 (comparing two fighters on one page, I even implemented a prototype on my server, as I'm a software developer), but nobody seems to give a shit.

They used to post dates of birth (and death where applicable) but apparently they can't anymore due to data protection laws (GDPR). Personally it makes no sense to me as they are posted on other sites like Wikipedia :maybe:

All posts are read, and sometimes features are implemented but there is always a delay.

World Heavyweight Title (and other weights) should be searchable. All the alphabets are, but the title Dempsey, Louis etc aren't. That's crazy.

Is it possible to get a fighters historical ranking.

If you look at the bout page of a fight it shows the fighters rating today (so wlad <blank> vs tyson fury #4)

I think that stat would be better if it was their ranking on that particular date.

Maybe a way of filtering by date in the ranking section as well.

edit sorry, filter by date in the ratings section as well.

Boxrec seems to have missed this recent pro boxing show in Tajikistan:

Yeah, this would really add value for those of us who closely follow the female side of the sport.

Also, would it be possible to add a 'world' only filter to the titles page? - https://boxrec.com/en/titles

Thanks guys!

I don't think they are counting most bouts sanctioned by the IBA (formerly AIBA) as professional bouts. I have seen some individual fights in a IBA championship night cards be included in the database, but most are not. Not sure why some were included - maybe because they were sanctioned separately by the WBA (who is friendly with the IBA and I think they sometimes put on joint cards).

It was the same with the now defunct AIBA World Series of Boxing. There was nothing distinguishing those fights from normal professional boxing matches. However, John decided that Boxrec would make a separate category for WSB fights.

It brings up a question that has been kicked around before - what makes a boxing match "professional"?

John, are you planning to give these IBA championship night cards their own category as well at some point?

Because I had a cut over my eye and was the only guy within 200 miles who was willing to fight him. His original opponent did not show up. The boxing commission sanctioned it, his Dad turned the fight in to the Ring Record Book and it stood for 39 or so years. It's all I have left to share with my grand kids. Thanks. PS. Thers an article about the fight in Bert Sugars Boxing Illustrated.

I, too, have sent a couple of emails about this same question. I would think the local commission would determine if it's under the auspices of professional, amateur or exhibition bout. It also puts the TCL fights in an awkward position if it's determined they are pro bouts by the local commission. That would mean every 1 round fight may go down as a separate bout depending on how the commission views it.

BoxRec used to show the points scores for all the fighters. Is there a way to access this? If not, maybe it could be part of my BoxRec+ subscription?

Why for a year has the KO percentage been calculated only on victories and not on the total number of fights?
It's ridiculous.
