Looking at the fight in a vaccum, I fancy Sunnys negativity to get to Bam and for Sunny to win most of the rounds on my card. I doubt he has a chance of getting the decision in Bams hometown with that negative style. Bam has plenty of upside and money to be made with him. Bam can headline in the US and there are big fights ahead. Sunny is struggling to sell a ticket. I don't think the politics or negative style are going to allow Sunny to be given the win but who knows whats going on in the background. If i was going to be guaranteed that it's fairly scored, I'd have a bet on Sunny.

good take on it mate, we will see. I think Edwards probably has more offensively, he's just so good without it, I'd love to see him use it a bit more when he has broken Bam down, as it will help him be more marketable.

Edwards is highly skilled defensively , really hard to pin down, can switch hit effectively, moves around the ring well, I just dont think he has enough offensively to beat Rodriguez, his offense isn't world class, Bam has it all, I'm thinking Canelo/Saunders here

Have you seen the final presser? Sunny was superb. Confidently accusing Bam of Ped abuse and Jesse had not even the vaguest hint of a defence. He just sat there looking uncomfortable. What a shotshiw of a sport. Awkward for Eddie obviously, he doesn't care as long as he's the one making cash out of people risking their lives.

With respect, and I thoroughly enjoy your posts, I really struggle with the notion that someone who would spend all of those hundreds of hours sweating pain at ungodly times, pushing beyond a person's natural limits in pursuit of fistic greatness, would then go full on 'meh' when your top tier opponent is calling you a cheat and thus tarnishing your potential win and legacy.

“One of the most intriguing fights of the year. This looks a 50/50 match up and I am genuinely torn. I can see a either man winning. Rodriguez has really impressed me, how he’s developed and looks to have pound-for-pound ability. He stepped in at late notice and jumped up in weight to claim the WBC junior bantamweight title before dropping back to flyweight where he has won the WBO title. While Edwards has also impressed, he has a very difficult style to decipher. The speedster uses lots of movement and befuddles opponents. He has long called out the best opposition and this is his moment to deliver. That said, he isn’t a puncher and he’s quite outspoken which won’t endear him to the locals, who are likely to cheer for Rodriguez. Which may make it difficult to separate himself enough from Rodriguez to win the decision on the road. However, I’m going to go with Edwards to nudge ahead in a chess match at the end of 12-rounds of cat and mouse. He’ll make Rodriguez fight his fight and claim a 12-round split decision that both will feel they’ve done enough to lead to calls for a rematch.”
