The rest I agree with you, but Toward was a really, really good am and his tekkers is obviously superb. And he's 22 and 2-0 - he could go far IF he can really improve and answer all the 'ifs' over the next 3 or so years...

Ramirez looked out of his depth - very disappointing - but a lovely one shot KO with his first real burst - can't do better than that. Talent is there for a WT win, but everything has to fall in to place for him. He seemed to really enjoy being @ home with support.
Could he do beat Tszyu with a vociferous support @ the S.O.L ?

Yes, a good punch, not devastating but right on the nose and with enough force.

Ramirez could have got up immediately but choose to stay down and was a very poor opponent.

At least Kelly can now move on to a shot for a belt.

tszyu would pound him, im not sure how we go from placido ramirez to the arguable world #1. josh beat up a soft touch who got last minute notice, let's not get carried away. looking good as a front runner was exactly what josh was doing before he got plonkered

he stepped up to fringe world class and had a draw, then did it again and got battered. tim stepped to that level and has won again and again. tim's team show confidence in him, josh's dont show it in him

he drubbed plenty of soft touches before. boxing is all about levels, josh couldnt win either fight at fringe world and hasnt been back since.

never even beat a euro level fighter, yet he beats placido ramirez and we are talking beating tim tszyu for the worlds? i dont get it

Well of course he'd be a big outsider and probably get splattered, but based on...

He's always been very talented, flashy athletic. IF, big massive if, he's head is right (and home support is behind him) he can win rounds against anyone. He has always looked good as a front runner and on one special stadium night he could get his nose in front, stay out of trouble and surf a wave of support to a decision win.
I mean, I'd be checking the odds of Tszyu KO carefully, because of course - you're right - he's a flaky talent that "doesn't like it up 'em". He's got form for looking $1m against cans and falling apart under pressure even from winning positions.
But yeah, just one special night - it's not that absurd.

I dunno, it's late and I watched a great KO and I'm probably getting carried away, but there's defo a price I'd bet Kelly pts vs Tszyu @ S.O.L - especially if he passed a gut check for the first time.

just dont think he's that level, he'd fall apart no doubt to me. not everyone can cut it vs world level opposition, even on their best day. so far josh couldnt win in 2 attempts just at fringe level

if he's really good enough to do it, he's being wasted against soft touches like this
