Wilder: "If Parker Tries To Walk Me Down, There's Two Words - Robert Helenius!"
“If Joseph Parker tries to walk me down, there's two words for that: Robert Helenius. We knew each other very well, but my style had changed a bit from when we sparred, he wasn't used to me being a mover. He was used to me sitting there, fighting fire with fire. When I switched it up, it knocked him off his game, which caused him to change his game plan up and he started lunging at me, trying to walk me down and the first right hand I threw it knocked him out," Wilder said to Vegas Insider.
"If Joseph Parker comes out and fights with fire with fire, he will be playing a dangerous game when it comes to me because of the power I have. Because when I come to punch I punch through you, not just to you. It will be exciting to see his game plan, but when he feels the power the first time his game plan is going to change. I'm looking forward to knocking him out, we were meant to fight many, many years ago but he ran from me.
“Parker has stated many times he's a new man and new fighter and when we came face to face he looked very confident. He really believed in his words and after feeling his energy, it allowed me to come home to train even harder because I know what I'm up against. That's all a fighter wants from another fighter - that they come and bring his best. Because I'm coming to bring my all, you're looking at a man that's willing to die in the ring at any given time. I've proved that many times and it's not going to stop until the end of my career.”

There's a lot of drug connections in boxing. I like Parker but do not think he has anything that makes me think he can win this. He won't stop Wilder and Wilder will find him. Parker is an old 31.![]()

What a load of old cobblers. A seasoned pro was bamboozled by Wilder to the point of completely throwing the game plan out the window half-way through the first round...sure...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Dec 2023, 04:14 Wilder: "If Parker Tries To Walk Me Down, There's Two Words - Robert Helenius!"

Wilder now 38, hard wars with Fury, 45 fight career. I'm amazed his athletic ability hasn't deserted him long before now as it has with many other fighters like him.
Wonder why.

Yeah betting on the massive favourite in boxing is a recipe for disaster. You may win more of the actual results than you lose but the odds mean your sure to lose in the long run.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑07 Dec 2023, 09:15 Parker is clearly the side if you're a betting person. CLEARLY.

He did indeed, was sentenced to 10 years in 1995 and carried on after. I love Peter's soundings on boxing and boxers but all his money has been made from drugs. He was convicted for a phet network in the North West but he was a massive importer of heroin and cocaine. An ancillary link to the Kinahan network, as well as Phil Glennon (the real heavy behind Curtis Warren). It sadly undoes all his earthy rhetoric about real boxing. His faux Christianity is laughable, as laughable as the Tibbs' born again Christianity.jwfg wrote: ↑07 Dec 2023, 07:33There's a lot of drug connections in boxing. Fury - drugs
Tibbs - drugs
Sims - drugs
Bowers - drugs
and the new networks:
Lee Eaton - drugs, MTK with new badge
Conlan boxing - drugs, MTK with new badge
Hennessey boxing - 50% owner is front for MTK-shill, drugs again
This is our sport root and branch.
Past and present all of them.

Deontay Wilder Brushes Off Retirement Talk: I’m Young; I Haven’t Had Much Damage on Me
Deontay Wilder is far from counting down the days to his retirement.
The former heavyweight champion from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, insisted in a recent interview that he will remain an active prizefighter for the foreseeable future.
Wilder admitted previously that he was contemplating retirement in the wake of his brutal knockout loss to Tyson Fury in their third fight in 2021.
But the power puncher has since been busy trying to mount a comeback. He returned to the ring for the first time last year since his loss to Fury, knocking out Robert Helenius in one round at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Now he is set to take on former titlist Joseph Parker on Dec. 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of a card headlined by a main event featuring Anthony Joshua against Otto Wallin.
Wilder, despite being 38, said he feels as if he is in his prime. The boxer also contended that he cannot be compared to other fighters his age because of the relatively late start he had in boxing.
“I’m young, I’m young, I just turned 38,” Wilder said on The Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer. “But we gotta understand that I started very late. I started at 21. I haven’t had much damage on me. I’m still sexy, I still talk very well, I handle business very well. I’m still energetic. I think I’m a seasoned fighter right now.
“I used to think about all these other fighters, started when they were young, very young, and get to the point [where they burn out]. I look at some of my Olympic brothers, like damn they burnt out because they’ve been doing it for so long and you can’t get burnt out. But I’m not burned out because of how I started and where I am now.
“I’m seasoned right now, and a lot of people will see it come December 23rd, what I mean by that.”

Extremely civilized. Getting on so well it is hard to even imagine them punching each other.

This is absolutely refreshing.
A week away. The true main event.
We’ve seen this side of Wilder many times. He comes across really well here as does Parker.
Two gents. It’s more of a discussion than anything.
Who needs tables being flipped or dodgy handshakes.
Parker is too a nice guy as well even Wilder can’t say anything.
We don’t always need trash talk. They don’t need to either, they getting paid. We know we’ll get the action in the ring.

I'm looking forward to this and the other fights, nice to have a PPV with at least a few decent matches rather than padded with women's matches and bums being knocked over.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 06:48 This is absolutely refreshing.

I wonder what time it will all start and as hopefully everything is televised

Absolutely spot on , been saying for ages good fighters make good fights and don't need silly pantomime to sell them.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 06:48 This is absolutely refreshing.

Hopefully a good fight but hard to see Parker surviving 36 minutes of Wilder's right hand.

Because he has always been lean. He hasn't had the extra pounds of muscle or fat to hammer his joints in training or the ring.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑07 Dec 2023, 08:18 Wilder now 38, hard wars with Fury, 45 fight career. He has had some injuries, and a few surgeries, but seems OK.

well, he also hasnt beat anyone younger than himself for 7 years. against guys even older maybe your athleticism wont be as noticeably diminished. parker still has quick hands, this fight should be a decent test. wilder should win if he's still mostly got it
