What's known of him in terms of how good he looks or amateur fights?
Is he just another wannabe boxer using a great name to further his career????

I don’t know much about him.
He apparently took up boxing six years ago, is a late starter to the sport, had 35 amateur bouts, is unaccomplished in the unpaid ranks and is trained by SugarHill Steward.
He’ll likely become a protected hype job and will be fed a continuous stream of journeymen, opponents specifically designed to make him look good, because Top Rank won’t want to derail the gravy train, since he’ll likely become a commercially popular fighter solely because of his name.
There are a couple of his amateur bouts on YouTube.
He's upright with a high-guard. No head movement nor lateral movement. A bit of a step forward, step back, moving in straight lines style Rock'em Sock'em Robot! He has a leaky defence and likes to trade and throw looping wide hooks.
It's too early to call whether he's a decent prospect or not (i.e. whether he has sufficient potential that'll see him significantly improve over time), but he currently looks like a white collar boxer, the sort of guy you'll see appear on the StreetBeef's YouTube channel.
That might sound excessively harsh, but everyone has got to start from somewhere. But at least he's young and has the right trainer to help address some of his huge fundamentally-unsound flaws.

Nico Ali Walsh Bounces Back With Decision Win Over Noel Lafargue
Nico Ali Walsh is back in the win column.
Walsh defeated Noel Lafargue by split-decision Saturday night at the Palais Du Peuple in Conakry, Guinea. One judge scored the bout 58-56 for Lafargue, while the other two judges scored the bout 60-54 and 58-56 for Walsh, who improved to 9-1 1 No Contest, 5 knockouts.
Both had their moments in the back-and-forth, but Walsh was the more-effective fighter and outlanded Lafargue, in terms of who landed the harder punches.
The victory over Lafargue took place less than three months after Walsh lost by majority decision to once-beaten Sona Akale in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Back on May 20, which took place in his hometown of Las Vegas, Walsh fought to a split-decision draw against Danny Rosenberger. Over three months after the Rosenberger fight, the Nevada Athletic Commission ruled the fight a no contest after random drug testing results revealed elevated levels of testosterone in the sample provided by Rosenberger.
Walsh, a 23-year-old who competes as a middleweight, has fought under the Top Rank banner since making his pro debut in August 2021.
Muhammad Ali fought and stopped George Foreman in October 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaire, which is now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Walsh is a grandson to Ali.
“It was a great development fight for Nico against a tough opponent,” Evan Korn, who is a publicist and matchmaker at Top Rank, told BS. “Additionally, the people of Guinea embraced Nico and his family. A memorable experience in and out of the ring.”
Lafargue, who resides in Morcenx, France, falls to 9-3-1, 3 KOs. The 34-year-old was unbeaten in his previous three fights entering the Walsh fight.

Strange, this reunion is not mentioned on boxrec yet, while there was other interesting pro boxing fights that day in Conakry, for example Sofiane Oumiha won over Ismail Galiatano in 8 rounds.

Regarding Nico Ali Walsh, he probably won't have the same career than his grand father, but he is a good fighter, it is good to see him bounce back, even though the result was not unanimous and it is strange to have such disparity between judges.
