He still has Ngannou in the wings, though. Not all that bad for Wilder, and I'm sure that fight is more intriguing now for Ngannou's team who is probably riding high and looking for names.

how do you like that, rasta man? big upset by agit! and wilder schooled by aj's leftoversbogan whisperer wrote: ↑22 Dec 2023, 16:48Deep card with plenty of talent on it but pick 'em fights are few and far between. Hope there are some cracking fights but If it plays out the way I expect it will people will be wondering afterward what all the fuss was about.ironbeard wrote: ↑22 Dec 2023, 11:25 So little buildup for this very special card. Questions shall be addressed. AJ and Wilder in action on the same alone would be a big card. Difficult to pay attention for many on this particular week. Focus is on finishing calendar jobs and prepping for a solid 9 days of holiday.

Parker has a concrete head and is extremely athletic when he's asked to come in fit. Just terrible style for Wilder who is better with methodical dudes that stand straight up, i.e. Joshua. I guess they thought he was washed, I know I did.
Kind of reminiscent of the 2nd Fury fight.
Maybe Fury's advice helped Parker?
New trainer issues?
Maybe Wilder couldn't get motivated to hurt nice guy Joe? He seemed to take defeat very well.
Or maybe, as some have been saying for years, Deontay Wilder is just not a very good technical boxer!
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Wow, I didn't know Agit was the underdog. He's a very good fighter, but I've not seen him in forever. He was on a "prospect watch" list years ago. I stopped watching after the Rovcanin fight, IIRC. I guess 2 upsets tonight.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Well, he was getting beat up by Szpilka too, but Szpilka's chin is paper towels. All in hindsight of course because I thought we'd see the Parker from the Hughie Fury/Ruiz fight. The fat, plodding, disinterested Parker. Dude came in in phenomenal shape and looked geared up. Wilder always needed to be carefully matched. They should've put him in there against Dubois tonight, not Parker. IDK, maybe he would've lost to Dubois tonight too. He looked rough as hell!Thomastearns wrote: ↑23 Dec 2023, 19:04Mexi-Box wrote: ↑23 Dec 2023, 18:56 How to lose out on millions over 12 rounds, the Deontay Wilder story. Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
I'd be more comfortable with Wallin pulling the upset if he hit harder. He's very rugged and very strong, but I can't see Joshua respecting his power. I don't think that would be a good position to be in against Joshua. I think this will be similar to the Joshua/Parker fight. Just will look more like an exhibition than an exciting one and Wallin being cagey the whole fight.

Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
I'd still get hyped for it, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be all that exciting. Wilder does look like he's about ready to hang them up, not that I think he could ever beat an on-point Parker anyways.Evander wrote: ↑23 Dec 2023, 19:23At this point I think Ngannou would destroy Wilder.

I say Wallin’s confidence is now up by good 30%.
Go Otto!!
Go Otto!!

Man, Wallin ate a gigantic body shot. He's probably going cagey the entire round now.

i have thought for weeks we would get double upsets. LOL if we get Parker vs Wallin now
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Man, I don't like the way boxing is going. We're seeing big fights again, but watching this in sparse, sterilized Saudi arenas just sucks out the excitement.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Wilder is finished. At least this event has shaken the heavyweight division a bit, Kabayel was the best looking out there.
Usual Bivol dominance, he should also win like this against Beterbiev IMHO.

Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
What plan did Wallin's coaches have? Dude will not win trying to be a bootleg counter puncher... or whatever this is. Joshua will put him to sleep at this rate. Wallin should be up in Joshua's chest, making it dirty and rough.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
I hear you. On the other hand, they obviously have the coin to make these fights happen. Nowhere else would you get a bill like that.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Who the hell convinced Wallin to try and outbox a damn Olympic gold medalist. Dude is trying to go jab-for-jab with Joshua like he's Klitschko or something.

Wallin very gun shy and cagey. Really needs to change things drastically if he wants to get anywhere.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
50 - 45 Armani Jeans. Looks confident and nifty tonight.
Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Great stoppage. Was looking like it'd be a snoozer and Wallin was only going to get KO'd. Great win for Joshua who will probably go after Dubois next. Seems like a no-brainer, no?

Re: RBR: Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin - December 23, 2023
Wallin should fire his sports psychologist. For Wallin to claim he was going to win easily was obviously some "fake it till you make it" b.s., and in his heart of hearts he knew he was lying to himself. I think that just came out in the ring, he had fake confidence, but no real confidence. And he's a level below AJ and that showed, and once he realized that (round 2 probably) all the wind went out of his sails.
