Martin Bakole Go Fund Me

Post by Alba »

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-to-a ... e=whatsapp

Thought this was worth sharing. I have to say, i havent seen a GFM for a fighter, but i would say that the ability on some of these to add perks for donations, could actually be used to help some boxers on the way up, if there profile is high enough to make it desireable

Im going to stick something in when i get paid later in the month.

Hi my name is Martin Bakole

I’m asking to my beloved sisters and brothers to help
is that all he wrote? any explanation about what money is for, what a specific amount would get him, how much he's made from past fights, etc?

If he wants donations he should be posting a bit more info than that like if he explained he has had injuries or some other troubles. I can't imagine he has made huge money so far (as far as heavyweight boxers go) but he lives in Glasgow which is comparatively cheap in the UK so would have thought what he has made would be sufficient. Would have thought his pay for Takam and Yoka would have been alright compared to the average taxpayer.

He's also been pretty inactive only fighting twice in 2023, then once in each of 2022, 2021 and 2020. If he fought more, and consistently against better opposition he possibly wouldn't have this trouble. Depending on whether there are unknown circumstances but he hasn't mentioned any.

WBA Eliminator could be against Charr, Parker, Dubois, Sanchez. Given the names there could end up on the Saudi card. Even if it's not on the Saudi card I can imagine he would get reasonable money against Parker, Dubois or Sanchez but would end up with a belt and higher percentage points if it was Charr.

Martin’s got a promotional deal with Boxxer who have the biggest sporting platform in Sky Sports. It’s pathetic he’s asking for this.

Bec Connolly regularly has the begging bowl out asking for people to pay for her medicals/brain scans etc, Gemma Ruegg also did it a couple of months back too.

Bakole took $100k from the DRC government to train for a fight which was never scheduled and never happened, and never paid it back.

You'd think someone like Billy Nelson who's on twitter enough would read the room and be advising Bakole not to do it, clearly they boxing fans are stupid and can continue to be milked.

It came from his Twitter account. Likely to be genuine but who knows.

He has a brass neck doesn't he? Begging people for money. Surely he has some squirrelled away from his past fights to fund his training or whatever.

No, he is not, he is #1 WBA, that's all. As Wilder for many months was #1 WBA & WBC, but he wasn't mandatory
challenger for either the WBA or the WBC.

I guess you can`t blame him giving it a go if he thinks there are enough mugs out there happy to give him money - its not like he spent longer than 5 minutes of his time setting it up and giving a nice intro to persuade people.
