Trying to analyze where Holyfield could have won that last ever illusive title, that he was craving for. What if Evander would've gotten the WBO title shot vs Briggs after Briggs beat Liakhovich?
Basically, what I offer here is Briggs vs Holyfield in 2007 (their versions from fights against Ibragimov, whom both fought that year)?

This would've been Holyfield's best shot, and I could see him barely scraping out a narrow decision. I could see it with Briggs too.

By that time, either one would take a decision after exchanging punches, but I take the Real Deal even though he was past his prime and Briggs was nearly past his prime too.
Re: Evander Holyfield vs Shannon Briggs (2007)
Briggs never really had the stamina, so I'd tend to go with Holyfield.
Briggs is not Toney and I can see Evander still evading most of what Briggs throws. I like Briggs and his persona and the classic, 'Let's go, Champ' but 'Vander would take a fairly comfortable UD, even this late in the day, so to speak.
As always, I also be be wrong.

Holyfield by decision.
