On BBC1 he covered or interviewed Audley Harrison during some of his early fights. That was the first time I noticed him and thought he was good. Even back then others were of a completely different view. Each to their own.

I wonder if he'd be good at boxing podcasting.

He's a big lad. I saw him shopping in the Wembley Lidl before an England game once.

He's the best commentator going, loves being there and extremely descriptive with some mad phrases thrown in too.

It's all very British and wonder what the Yanks would make of him, especially the air heads on Dazn.

im expecting him to find a way to work in photosynthesis, plate tectonics, and pyramids on the next fight card he does
Yes the e Honda comparison was based on how Parker mixes from body to head…

And what made it funnier was he used E honda full name… Edmond Honda

How many kids listening to their radio and Grandoarents would have even known what he was referring too. I struggled and I used to play Street Fighter 2 loads…. Edmond!
To be fair Honda still appears in Street Fighter games, he's in SF6 and that only came out 6 months ago.

Not the best sound quality but an interesting insight into Ron's modus operandi. Many lesser interviewers would just chuck a couple of throwaway questions out there at a public workout in a shopping centre and then lounge around watching events unfold.

Not Ron !! Immaculately attired and supremely well prepared, he conducts an in depth 12 minute interview

A good radio commentator, terrible for TV just stating the obvious that people can see with their own eyes

Big Ron Atkinson spawned the official language of “Ronglish”. A bastardisation of football punditry which is legend, (look it up . “Full gun”. “Little eyebrows”. “Lollipop”. Its all there).

Our Ron though is next level. A purest. Our Sid Waddell.

The Tungsten of British Boxing commentators.

Ron - we salute you! . 🫡

Ron is a lovely humble decent man.

He is 6ft 9 and 3/4

Off all the men in boxing, big Ron may well be the longest in the shower :TU:
