eh, it was boarderline to me. it wasnt a beatdown where he was regularly hurting him or landing many flush shots. most of it was glancing stuff as ndodgeni moved his head. ndod never down or really busted up. only 2 rounds left. but he was well behind and under pressure, so i understand it

He was just getting beaten up.
The Wasp easily had the skillz to hang with and even outbox Barb, but for power and hardness it was "levels".

Sure he coulda lasted another round or 3, but ref gotta protect fighters..

he was defusing a lot of those shots with head movement. never down or really all that shook up either. still moving and hitting throwing back. 8th wasnt even as bad as the 7th. only two rounds left. i get it, he was well behind and under pressure, but it wasnt one of those fights where someone better jump in quick

Good stoppage.
If it's not competive there is no good reason to let it go the distance.
The losing fighter wanting to continue never was or ever will be a good reason to let a beatdown continue.

this would lead to all sorts of fights being stopped way too quick, many fights are turned around after one guy has been in control

hell why not have stopped it in the 4th-5th, ndodgeni was obviously highly unlikely to win by then anyway. one could argue that was the case before the opening bell too though

maybe boxing should have that old amateur rsco rule - you get up by a certain amount of points , auto stoppage!

i guess it would be a time saver when it comes to these nailed to go the distance fights where one guy is clearly superior

much better this time with not having 40+ min waits between fights, dazn usa shows have been awful for that

on paper, ohara-barro looks like the best fight :bag:

Exactly.
But you gotta stop it somewhere..

Ref did look a bit too keen to stop it and it was a tad early - Americans like to call that a British stoppage, but it's pretty common everywhere. Can't blame the ref for not wanting to be the guy that stopped one too late.

Yes, yes.
Boxing needs more lop- sided rounds and more fights that are not remotely competitive.
'One more" round never caused permanent damage to an over matched fighter...

Never fear.........Golden Boy will provide the uncompetitive mismatch you were hoping to see.

HIs trainer told him to go for him in R1 - "he's a slow starter" :salut:

Barosso stops Davies in a round correct call,. He was out of it after the first KD, fcn class don't believe the hype when it comes to Ohara's recent charm offensive, he's a gobshite still and a British level fighter

In saying that Barosso looks 10 years older than the Tyson who fought Jones ,legit looks older than any boxer I've seen in a ring including trashy ex pro exhibitions but he short circuited Davies with that initial left
