I guess we have found OD's level to be top end domestic, and there is no shame in that, its a high level.

Think of someone like Cello Renda who is held in reasonably high esteem in boxing yet he was 'just' (and i say that respectfully as i admire Cello) an area champion with a '3 round 3 fight ko evening' prizefighter runners up prize.

OD has done himself no favours with his antics........and sadly his mouth wrote cheques that his fists couldnt cash.

That saying, most of the haters are probably from the north west. Other random boxing fans and perusers were probably 'attracted' to him because of his gob and his click bait interviews.

Personally, id like to see him get back in at domestic level and try and ply his trade whilst chasing the portrait of Hugh Lowther.

I remember him making a comment to Tommy Coyle about doing an interview with The Sun after he beat him. I think he knew it would cause issue with Liverpool but he’s claimed naïvety and not knowing why The Sun is so disliked in the North West. It wouldn’t surprise me if that was true too to be honest.

That doesn’t make him likeable though as I remember just how much of a dick he was in one of the Liverpool press conferences.

We’ll never know whether he did know about Hillsborough or not. I was born in Liverpool, spent my first 10 years living just outside and went to Everton games regularly. I was late teens and bought a copy of The Sun (something to do with Rooney probably) and my dad asked why I’d got it. I had no idea about The Sun/Hillsborough/Liverpool fan stuff and so obviously he told me and I read more about it. I know about the Hillsborough disaster but not the other stuff.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Ohara didn’t know the links too. Either way he seemed to know The Sun was disliked by the people of Liverpool hence him raising it and the stuff he said about scousers at one of the Liverpool pressers was awful.

Barosso isn't bad either. The man can whack and was on his way to being champ against Rolly. I'm sure he was interim champ years ago too. I don't know what was wrong with Davies last night, he didn't look right to me. I think he could come back to the UK and get some good match ups though, he could fight for the British, commonwealth, European, IBO etc and then have another go.

There was a clip of him and Conor Benn training together doing circuits and you could see Ohara was lazy, not wanting to do the full circuit the way it was set out.

Yes I agree, he is beyond domestic lever, but not by too much, but hopefully enough to win a Lonsdale belt outright, alas i think father time is not on his side now. Domestic level fights for a British title, above domestic level defends/retains it a few times and is therefore knocking on European level. In my opinion.

Why do think he tweeted it then? I was born when it happened but cant remember it, I was too young but Ive known about it probably all my adult life, I can maybe believe Davies knew nothing about it not long before sending the tweet but at some point he's been told and used it to wind up Coyle, not thinking of the implications of joking about dead men, women and children
