( he just lost all interest in boxing after it)
he died in 1986.

BTW I was reading Roberto Duran's 2016 autobiography the other day.
and he said that Freddie Brown (minus Ray Arcel) came back to help
train him for the Marvelous Marvin Hagler fight in 1983.
does not look like he worked in Duran's corner tho, can you spot him ?

Man, I've searched dozens of newspapers and can't find any mention of Freddie Brown working with Duran for the Hagler bout.

That was what Roberto Duran said in his 2016 autobiography
I AM ROBERTO DURAN.
I'm guessing the reason that Freddie Brown was not in Duran's corner
for the Hagler fight is because he may have been banned
working the corner because of the earlier Holmes vrs Cooney fight
where Ray Arcel and he broke out the smelling salts ( which were banned)for Holmes
during the fight when Holmes was on the verge of collapse ?

the story I always heard was that Ray Arcel administered the smelling salts to Holmes,
and Freddie Brown was flapping the towel to distract from it.
I gotta check again if Brown was in Holmes corner in that fight,
he always wore a green sweater.

yeah, I was really surprised when I read that in Duran's book (page 187)
check out this article, no mention that Brown had been training Duran
for the Hagler fight either.

Are you certain Freddie Brown was in Holmes' corner for the Cooney bout ? I doubt that he was.

You'r right, Freddie Brown and Ray Arcel definately parted ways after the "No Mas" fight in 1980.
Freddie Brown also felt he was ripped off, as he only recieved 75,000 dollars for all his effort and enerrgy.
