Mazhar Majeed
Apparently The Times did an article on Majeed and claim he’s working closely with Boxxer.
For reference Majeed was the agent involved with Pakistan bowlers who got done for spot fixing 10 or so years back. Majeed served time over it.
He’s been involved in boxing for a few years now. Links with Haye and he represented Amir Khan for the deal with Brook. He’s since been working with Buatsi and Eubank Jr.
Does anyone have an account with The Times and could post the article please?
Apparently it references a high court case between Matchroom and Boxxer over Joshua Buatsi for breach of contract.

Yeah. Who’d have thought it.
This is the article….

Boxxer/Shalom don’t come out of it well but there aren’t any allegations about misdeeds (yet) from Majeed in boxing.

Yup. Very naive thinking he’d get away with it.
I’m not sure why he’d paying Majeed directly though.
Re: Mazhar Majeed
I've got a lot of love for the Boxing News team, but for whatever reason they seem to give Shalom a pass on a lot of things. Really intrigued to see how they tackle this, as having read the story it's pretty damning. I'll be hugely disappointed if they don't address it.

Me too. The Editor's piece about Abu Dhabi was a bit cowardly this week I thought. It reads like the new ownership are having an influence and not in a good way.Deserter wrote: ↑14 Jan 2024, 17:09 I've got a lot of love for the Boxing News team, but for whatever reason they seem to give Shalom a pass on a lot of things. Re: Mazhar Majeed
yep, i've noticed it a bit on the podcast as well - just getting a pass on things in a way i really wouldn't expect. Really noticed it when the Buatsi vs Azeez fight was called off at late notice due to 'injury' - completely taken at face value and not even an acknowledgement of the very strong rumours circulating that it was due to ticket sales tanking.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑14 Jan 2024, 17:18Me too. Re: Mazhar Majeed
Boxxer do tend to get a bit of a free pass. I still find it baffling that Shalom doesn’t do any interviews seemingly bar ones that won’t push (TalkSPORT and Sky Sports) as surely the job of a promoter is to do their very best to make people aware of the show and want to watch.
He got caught out a few times last year which won’t help but the weird one for me was when he said on TalkSPORT that Yarde/Buatsi was being discussed and would take place on Sky and then Boxxer’s own Twitter had to essentially post a retraction.
Eddie and Frank are good picking their words carefully when exaggerating/blagging and being good at talking their way out of things. It’s not easy to do so his best bet would be being truthful on everything, doing the politician thing of just changing the subject or saying something can’t be discussed.

Re: Mazhar Majeed
I knew Mazhar very well due to his friendship with David Haye.
Max used to be part of the entourage when I organised Davids dinner nights and appearances at clubs.
Whilst I got on very well with Maz I am surprised by the spinelesss Boxing News not covering Maz’s involvement in the sport.
I only crossed Maz once, he called me up offering my job back with David on wanted me to accept 50% less than my original wages. Suffice to say I went into a rant.

And you should have accepted the job Spud, considering you ended up asking for money on a GoFundMe.

My wife ran for Parkinson’s UK and I asked people to contribute to raise funds in finding a cure … many people within the sport contributed generously.
I find it extremely sad and pathetic that spineless ****s like yourself would twist that…
I will accept your immediate unequivocal apology for getting things so wrong.

I'm definitely not apologising to a sweary beggar who grossly inflates their time in the sport, as a man putting chairs out at boxing shows. You are almost a meme in the sport for your cringeworthy presence. You're penniless and pathetic.Spud wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:03What the **** are you on about. What is worse is your comment concerning my wife’s efforts in raising money for Parkinson’s UK.
I have no problem in stating how upset I am in how low people will stoop to having a pop to score points.

This forum.
You havnt done that, you have insinuated I have lied.
You have mocked my efforts in raising money for Parkinson’s.
You have mocked my employment status which is entirely down to my health.
You really are showing yourself as a proper weak **** hiding behind your keyboard.
What I find staggering is you think your conduct on here is acceptable.
I am far from being angry & bitter I have had a great life and mystrength of character surpasses anything you can only dream .

I am not hiding behind any keyboard. Unlike you my full name is on here as is who I am, where I live and what I do. I work 70 hours a week despite critical health issues, and do not beg sympathy unlike you, I also don't cry about the sport. You are a weak pathetic person who has got to your 60s with nothing due to your own failings. It clearly irks you. That is on you. I'm from a travellers site then a council estate. I have no silver spoon. Your 'memories' are mythical and myopic. You are known on here as a joey who hung around like a bad smell. You are infamous as a caricature. Nobody likes you. Nobody cares about your pseudo-career. And the only person you have regular engagement with is your job coach.Spud wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:41You really are showing yourself as a proper weak **** hiding behind your keyboard.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:29I'm not scoring points, I don't care about you.
