You're either proven to have lied or managed to find an incorrect source. Ruiz was not WBA number 1 when Lewis fought Holyfield, because Akinwande was. And he was not WBC number 1 in 2000, because Tyson was. Nice try
You lose.
Lewis agreed to fight a WBA number 1 rated, who was Akinwande, not Ruiz. Akinwande lost his position because of his hepatitis:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/lennox-lew ... -don-king/
King applied to have Lewis stripped before Ruiz was number 1 in the WBA. John Ruiz was inserted as WBA number 1, only 13 days before Lewis was stripped of the title. Lennox Lewis's lawyer asked the WBA to have a box off where Lennox would face the winner after Michael Grant. So Lennox is agreeing to fight the WBA mandatory after the Grant fight, but Ruiz and King want him stripped instead:
https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes ... lewis.html
Ruiz wasn't ranked number 1 in the WBC. Tua was WBC mandatory at the time and the WBC listed Tyson as the next mandatory:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2002/feb/06/boxing
King sued Lewis to strip him of the WBA after Lewis signed to fight Grant. Legally Lewis couldn't not drop the WBA at this stage because he was legally under contract to face Grant:
https://casetext.com/case/lewis-v-don-k ... ctions-inc
Final judgment shall enter as follows:
1. The complaint will be dismissed in its entirety. The dismissal of the first and fourth claims for relief is for lack of subject matter jurisdiction, as neither raises a case or controversy within the meaning of Article III of the Constitution. The dismissal of the second and third is on the merits.
2. DKP's counterclaim against plaintiffs Panix and Main Events will be dismissed on the merits.
3. Lewis will be enjoined from engaging in any boxing match or bout with Michael Grant or any other person unless Lewis first shall have (a) defended his WBA heavyweight title against the WBA's leading available contender or (b) vacated the WBA title and so advised the WBA and DKP in writing.
Nothing you posted refutes that Ruiz was no 1 contender with WBC and WBA.
Posting a 2002 article about Mike Tyson has no bearing on Ruiz being no 1 in the year 2000. What's wrong with you?
Tua was IBF no 1 since 1998 having beaten Rahman for two IBF minor belts in an IBF final eliminator.
As already stated multiple times, King in agreeing Holyfield-Lewis 2 secured Ruiz first shot. When Lewis relinquished his WBA belt Ruiz was no 1 with WBC and WBA. It doesn't matter how many days prior to Lewis vacating Ruiz was elevated, Ruiz was no 1 and in getting Holyfield rematch Lewis had agreed in 1999 to fight him.
Boxing Monthly, Graham Houston and Glyn Leach are empirically factually accurate. A gentleman would be able to throw up his hands and say 'Fair play, I was wrong.' Your inability to do this speaks volumes about you.

I don't think John Fury is very impressed by Sugar Hill:
"It's like a finely tuned race horse; if he's got a bad jockey, he won't win the race will he!?"

I think Tyson has done the right thing in going to ground and getting on with it instead of distracting himself by playing to the gallery. And, yes, John doesn't seem to rate any of Tyson's trainers.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 04:55Yeah he's been after that job forever.big lennox wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 04:50 I don't think John Fury is very impressed by Sugar Hill:

No idea I took something similar from 2019-2022. Once a week pre loaded injection pen. Did definitely make me less hungry. Now outta range on the type 2 scale and no longer take it. So all good. Plus I lost 6 stone. Which is why……..
No bs.

I take it , great drug , does supress your appetite , but that alone does'nt make you lose weight , i found bringing the sugars down just made me feel better i started going helping out at a local ameteur gym just once a week , that monday night i found was the highlight of my week , so i started going more , doing more when i was there , loved taking the kids in the ring and showing them there distancing , telling them to put one on my chin while i stayed 1 inch out of range , just teaching hem how to read it coming and having great fun , this extra excercise from feeling better , and the weight dropped off , lost 20 kilo , when i could'nt get it i only put 2-3 kilo back on , , All in all great drug it does work , Just had my 12 month tests results , everything good to great , doc says most guys 30-35 years younger don't have readings has good , Liver , kidneys , heart , pancreas , cholestral and everything else they tested for all good , and way better than last year .
I think its the Ozempic that started the chain reaction because it just decreased my sugar levels and made me feel better and more alive , sugar levels are now norml first time in 20 odd years like my specelist said , its a bit of a wonder drug , don't know if you would test positive with it though ,

Gosh, glad it is helpful way beyond the current reasons people are taking it.coneye wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 17:49I take it , great drug , does supress your appetite , but that alone does'nt make you lose weight , i found bringing the sugars down just made me feel better i started going helping out at a local ameteur gym just once a week , that monday night i found was the highlight of my week , so i started going more , doing more when i was there , loved taking the kids in the ring and showing them there distancing , telling them to put one on my chin while i stayed 1 inch out of range , just teaching hem how to read it coming and having great fun , this extra excercise from feeling better , and the weight dropped off , lost 20 kilo , when i could'nt get it i only put 2-3 kilo back on , , All in all great drug it does work , Just had my 12 month tests results , everything good to great , doc says most guys 30-35 years younger don't have readings has good , Liver , kidneys , heart , pancreas , cholestral and everything else they tested for all good , and way better than last year .

I used Ozempic following a period abusing HGH and IGF1. Found it really effective, really did suppress appetite well for me. Different sport though.

Or perhaps the other way.
I think what they’ve reported re: sparring may well be right but I’m still surprised they didn’t plan for this.
It’s not like Opetaia is a recently turned pro, he’s ring magazine champ so needs good sparring for a tough fight against Breidis.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | TNT PPV - 17 February 2024
Well i suppose if its Furys camp , the sparring is brought in for what Fury needs not Jai

Fury doesn't seem to have gym wars though from the stuff he shows it almost looks like touch sparring. I sense a Fury pull out or delay maybe imminent. He'd need a long camp just to get some of the blubber off him.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2024, 04:17Or perhaps the other way.

Then the Saudis can get very upset. They are not quite ordinary promoters, if they get upset it's no joke.

Promoters are the people who stage boxing shows. Whether they make a profit from it, it's another question.

Opetaia team on Fury ‘rumours’
IBF and Ring magazine king Opetaia (24-0 with 19 wins inside distance) showcased his elite power when demolishing Ellis Zorro inside a round on that massive ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in Riyadh last month. But now he’s been dealing with another challenge – those ‘rumours’ circulating about his sparring with the WBC and lineal heavyweight king.
A statement from Opetaia’s co-promoters Tasman Fighters confirmed that Fury and Opetaia had sparred, but denied categorically that either man was dropped during the sessions.
The statement read: “Jai Opetaia has recently returned from Saudi Arabia where he sparred and trained with Tyson Fury. They were fantastic, competitive rounds and an incredible experience for Jai. However any talk of either boxing being dropped is not true.
“Jai is now back in Australia finalising his prepration to defend his world title and cannot wait to do so in Saudi Arabia.”

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | TNT PPV - 17 February 2024
So, before his bout on Feb. 17 in Saudi Arabia (S.A.) Opetaia
- went from Australia to S.A. where he sparred and trained for some time in January
- now he is back in Australia "finalising his prepration" for the fight in S.A., with less than a month left
Isn't that rather unprofessional?

The promoters are the people listed by BoxRec as the promoters of the show. The Saudis aren't promoters.

The recent picture of Fury in training didn't look too good. The pic of him on the mat in particular - whilst he has always had skinny legs, the pic made them look Wilder skinny.
Didn't look as if any muscle on calf or thigh to suggest any strength training .. looks like he is cutting corners by dieting to shift weight rather than solid training again.
