Hasim Rahman vs Chris Byrd

Post by EdwardRevolver1993 »

I remember wanting to see this particular fight back in the days. They even could've potentially met each other on the Don King's "Night of heavyweights", but it never materialized.

If they meet anytime between 2002 and 2006...

Who wins?

Byrd wins a UD in a boring fight. He was too slick, unhittable, and skilled to lose this one. Not that Rahman was bad; quite the opposite, he was one of the best of his era. But he couldn't have beaten Byrd.

I think Byrd UD too. He was really hard to beat.

Hahahaha....harsh but probably accurate. Byrd's style was a tough one to crack, most of the time.

Either Rahman jabbed and nailed the southpaw Byrd with big right hands to take a decision or Byrd would outbox Rahman behind his southpaw jabs and counterpunches to take a decision.

I honestly just can't see Rahman beating Byrd. A puncher's chance is all he's got here, and even that is minimal due to Byrd's defensive skills. Byrd obviously wouldn't beat Rahman up all that severely, but he'd outbox him clear as day.

I think Byrd beats Rahman 10 times out of 10 to be honest. Just a bad matchup for Rahman.

Boxing's funny that way sometimes. I can't see Rahman beating Byrd, but I also can't see Byrd ever beating Lennox Lewis.
