Dont like Crocker smiling and shaking his head every time he gets hit.
Especially when the fellas not in his natural weight

And raising in his hand after every round like he is in the fight of his life

Embarrassing carry on.

In all fairness headlining in your home city live on TV for first time must be some buzz, don't like the weight issue though, needs to sort that out pronto

No, but I'm getting moving too soon vibes AND maybe can't/won't be able to correct the obvious flaws we saw tonight...

Ritson was looking a world beater for a very short time though .
Maybe I'm talking out of my arse as usual but something with him and the backing he's getting is taking a similar path .

Great shout, it'll unravel for Crocker when making 147 (if he can be arsed to make it again) becomes too much for him.

We had another fight like this (I can’t remember which) where the board didn’t allow the fighter to properly attempt to make championship weight.

I think the rule needs reviewing as it doesn’t seem to be a rule in other jurisdictions.

Crocker at the start of the week was deemed too heavy to safely make weight. So he was told the maximum he could weigh in is 150lbs and doesn’t really need to put himself through the mill to make weight. Whilst Felix still has to make 147 to fight for the belt.

It’s almost like they’re giving the fighter an advantage for being far off the fighting weight. In reality any advantage should be given to the opponent.

It probably wouldn’t have impacted the result last night but perhaps Felix’s shots would have had more impact on Crocker if Crocker had pushed himself to make 147.

Time will tell where Crocker's level is, but I'm enjoying his career thus far.

Yes, he had an obvious pull in the weights but at least Felix wasn't fat & shit too i.e. a complete no hoper who goes over the minute a punch passes his whiskers.

The imperfections are there to see but he will always carry that equaliser in either fist. :bag:

The other fight was for Lara vs Wood 2, when Lara failed the check weight, another Matchroom promotion, it's about time Matchroom stopped pulling the wool over the fans eyes and let it be known one of the boxers won't be making weight before the weigh in happens in these instances.

it does sound like Crocker had been preparing for the weight but the medical people called a halt to it, and apparently they were only 2/3 pounds apart on the night. Doesn't make it right of course.

Jose Felix Soto picks up five-year ban for positive test after Lewis Crocker fight

Jose Felix Soto has been banned for five years having tested positive for two banned steroids for his fight with Lewis Crocker in Belfast.

They boxed in Ulster Hall on January 27, with Crocker dropping the Mexican twice and stopping him in the fifth round.

Felix caused one of the shocks of 2023 when, on May 20, he upset 16-0 Gary Cully at Dublin’s 3Arena. Previously he had lost 10-round decisions to Sandor Martin and Tyrone McKenna.

The Mexican junior welterweight has been banned from all World Anti-Doping Code-compliant sports after testing positive for metabolites of the performance enhancing steroid stanozolol and metandienone (sold under the brand name Dianabol), which are both prohibited.

The substances were found in his post-fight sample that was taken in the early hours of the 28th.

Felix was informed about the findings by UKAD (UK-anti-doping) and he claimed he had taken medicine to treat an Achilles injury and gave UKA a copy of the prescription, which listed stanozolol and Metandiestenalona, among other medications.

UKAD offered Felix the chance to apply for a therapeutic use exemption after the fact, but he did not submit the necessary documentation. UKAD charged him with Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) and insisted a five-year period of ineligibility should apply.

That two anabolic steroids were detected, read a UKAD statement, “justified an increase to the standard period of Ineligibility that would otherwise apply.”

His ban began on April 24, 2024.

The 33-year-old Felix is 41-7-1 (31 KOs) and boxed in an eight-rounder, winning a decision, against Hector Astorga Jimenez in Los Mochis, Mexico on July 25 this year.

Winstrol and Dbol, he wasn't mucking about using those PEDs. I agree re the ban length being proportionate to their commercial worth which is just plain wrong. Not got much sympathy for the ban length but he'll feel rightly harshly judged when looking at the others who have used anabolic steroids and got little if any real sanction. The dbol though confused me. I used it for years for strongman and powerlifting and always found it gave me and everyone else who used it, terrible water retention which can't be good for boxers. It also gave lots of us cramps/pumps that were agony, again that doesn't chime with boxing, but my boxing experience is zero so who knows if they had a dbol blend that was altered. I found the side effects of water retention to be there even on low dosages of say 20mg a day. It also used to give me kidney ache so must be taxing on the system. Just my penny's worth.

Forgot to say Winny I found to be milder, with minimal sides. I know people who passed piss tests in tested feds too so presuming that one is easier to mask.
