Thought Munguia looked fairly sharp at the weekend and gave John quite the beatdown, tough man Ryder and if that's the end of the road then congrats to him on a very solid career.

Munguia really needs to maintain momentum after this and take on top level opponents from now on, 43 wins and not too many notable names on the resume as yet. Time will tell.

Let's hope Ryder has made some decent coin, cannot afford to keep on fighting and taking hidings again and again.

john plucky as ever but it was like a tank vs a water gun . sergey gave mung a tough tough fight because he was able to hurt him and apply non stop pressure in many rounds. john just couldnt dent mungy

Hearn said Ryder is financially secure now, good to see. No one would have predicted that when he was getting stopped by Blackwell.

Yep. John has been one of, if not the most, impressive British boxer in dusting his self off after a defeat and coming back stronger.

After the Blackwell loss, then Arnfield and the another against Fielding I really didn't think Ryder would become a world rated contender.

I felt the turning point was beating Patrick Nielson and it really seemed to set the wheels in motion for a brilliant run of form.

It's highly improbable but I'd love to see him bow out with another challenge to the British title...the belt that eluded him. It would make a great swansong.

I agree, no one deserves it more too. Would be a fantastic way to bow out.

Some boxers have a farewell fight and if there was a British title in the offering, surely that be tempting for Ryder :maybe:

I'd still wager he'd have way too much for current holder Zak Cheli.

would love to watch it. Zak would definitely take it, he'll fight anyone. I speak to his dad a bit, really got time for them.

I agree, Cheli seems prepared to fight whoever's in front of him.
