I think they were wise to keep pre eggs Connor Bennedict away from Chris Jenkins on honesty. That would have fucked Eddie's investmentTwinkle Toes wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 12:00 Not good enough, and not matching his boastful pre-fight predictions that he just never stops with. He looks more and more like a fighter that is surrouned by yes men who blow smoke up his arse at every opportunity
He's twice now gone the distance against people no one has heard of and looked bang average in the process. Hearn is shameful as well stating he's the biggest name in uk boxing outside of Joshua and Fury, while at the same time promoting him fighting out of the cosmopolitan on a Saturday afternoon having to be propped up by Fisher's supporters.
The whole thing is embarrassing for all involved and that's before the farce over the failed tests.

Benn has very poor defence. It won't even take a banger to put him out just somewhat with above average power.
I think he and his team have handled all of this so badly. There is no redemption for him. He will never feel the love his father received and once he loses once that will be it I reckon for him and Matchroom

yup, what I used to take, that and HCG.polecateddy wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 10:08And the Clomid would presumably be the substance of choice after cycling Tren and Testosterone to reduce estrogenic side effects and return the body’s natural testosterone to normal levels. But of course in Benn’s case with have to swallow the magical eggs theory.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 09:20this is true, esp re the traps. Tends to be the thing in the gym that indicates someone has started using gear. Tren is mental.polecateddy wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 09:14
They say there’s more androgen receptors in those areas, so when your PED-head is hitting the steroid of choice, say Trenbolone, you end up with distinctive rounded deltoids and I suppose thicker traps and neck.

conor is not world class and never will be but he will get a big fight and I will lump against him getting stopped. A good boxer would play target practice on his face

Yep, Spence would lay him out pretty comfortably; Benn ain't Terence Crawford.smiling assassin wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 16:19 The div is at it with Spence and Davis on twitter. Both would leave Benn in a bad way
A bit pathetic of him to be picking fights with little guys like Davis, even though I am confident that Gervonta would iron Benn out too.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Peter Dobson | DAZN - 3 February 2024
Just how easy was it for Dobson to hit Benn with a lazy very slow straight left and even slower right hand , Benns head movement was / is so predictable , you can't really miss his movements are so predictable , you know excatly when and where he's going to slip , a fast hard puncher tears him apart , whats more the sooner the better

He isn't going to be knocking folk out anymore.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Peter Dobson | DAZN - 3 February 2024
Dobson was so slow!
But gutsy enough to at least give it a go. Good on him
Eubank Jr would waste Benn. Even weight drained and shopworn.
Probably a good idea to come up with someone else for Benn.
Reasonably watchable fight after round 4.

Just watched the fight. Decent performance from Benn, never seen Dobson before - he looked handy but hardly a world beater. I'm not too sure that Light Middleweight is the right division for Connor, think he'd be better off stay at Welter where he probably carries more power...

Agree, I learned a lot from that.coneye wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 18:05 Just how easy was it for Dobson to hit Benn with a lazy very slow straight left and even slower right hand , Benns head movement was / is so predictable , you can't really miss his movements are so predictable , you know excatly when and where he's going to slip , a fast hard puncher tears him apart , whats more the sooner the better
Dobson was heavyweight slow, and yet when he did decide to have a go, he couldn't miss. The wheels of the Benn hype train could have fallen off easily if Dobson had a bit of power.
You have to be impressed with the matchmaking of Benn though.
23 fights now...

Conor Benn-the #1 welter in England without fighting any of them.

Re: Conor Benn vs. Peter Dobson | DAZN - 3 February 2024
Yep. Ignoring all the failed test issues and playing devils advocate as I know Benn isn't the most liked, Dobson looked bigger and was unbeaten which can sometimes give a fighter more confidence and make them harder to beat. It'll be interesting to see their weights on fight night. Plus Dobson fought defensively for most of the fight so never easy to look good or get the KO. Benn should stay at WW, he wasn't the biggest puncher at WW, no stoppages after the 4th round and he doesn't seem to carry his power up.Crease wrote: ↑05 Feb 2024, 09:14 Just watched the fight. That's a good point, mate and I would add to that... I think that Dobson's record is misleading.Controversial wrote: ↑05 Feb 2024, 16:06Yep. Even at a cursory glance - he only had a single fight scheduled for ten rounds before fighting Conor. That tells me that he's been swimming at the shallow end of the pool. And there's not much of an excuse for that, he's not a young guy (33) and he's been professional since 2014. He might have had a perfect record, but he was a bit of a bluffer...
Re: Conor Benn vs. Peter Dobson | DAZN - 3 February 2024
I agree with you, Welterweight is the place for him... Even when he was coming up - when fighting 4 and 6 rounders he didn't seem to get rid of a few boys... That does tend to make you think he's not the greatest puncher and that he may struggle to stop fighters in the top ten.Controversial wrote: ↑05 Feb 2024, 16:06Benn should stay at WW, he wasn't the biggest puncher at WW, no stoppages after the 4th round and he doesn't seem to carry his power up.

Agreed. Benn is getting by on his athletic ability and when you go up in class against the technicians of the sport, it's a different ballgame. He will get taken apart by a top level operator. Eddie has to think about how to keep him winning before the cash out fight. He was hoping it would be Eubank but Eubank Sr. has come out guaranteeing that the fight won't happen. I believe he will pull out something crazy to stop the fight if he has to.coneye wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 18:05 Just how easy was it for Dobson to hit Benn with a lazy very slow straight left and even slower right hand , Benns head movement was / is so predictable , you can't really miss his movements are so predictable , you know excatly when and where he's going to slip , a fast hard puncher tears him apart , whats more the sooner the better
I thought Benn was poor on the night. You'd think we were getting the 2nd coming of Salvador Sanchez the way he was hyped up and a first round blowout seemed an inevitability. Instead we got served what we got served and I also have to agree that the sooner he takes a hiding, the better.

Benn`s power pre egg gate was nothing to shout about. he hit Seb Formella with everything and couldn`t stop him, he went the distance with Granados and his stoppage against Vargas was a typical early UK stoppage
He did spark an ageing Algieri and Van Heerden just didn`t want it.
Put him in with Crocker, find out who`s fooling who

Just listening to Bunce on 5 Live Boxing podcast and he said Benn was officially weighed by the Nevada Commission on the morning of the Dobson fight at 170lbs
