I thought it was pretty pathetic how they were trying to hype up the win. Anyone could see that Williams was shot after going down from jabs from Eubank. He just can't hold a shot and it was a testament to how bad Eubank is that he didn't finish although this was around the time that him and Roy were going the distance in fights in order to prove he was a good boxer. The Marcus Morrison fight was the same thing. Eubank and Roy - a bunch of morons. Eubank showed it by getting flattened by Liam in their first fight, something that shouldn't have happened but I was delighted he got caught like that while trying to p*ss about.

So yes Sheeraz did get the win but Williams is shot to bits and shouldn't be in there. His blinking issue has always been there but it is the brain firing off something and now we have the signs that the nervous system is compromised and can't handle any type of punishment without shutting down. Time to retire.

Sheeraz is still the same guy who was perplexed by Bradley Skeetes jab and getting schooled before he cheated his way to the win. He would have won anyway to be fair but it was still an awful showing and not that long ago. KOing shot fighters means nothing.

other opponents that could be useful: fiodor czerkaszyn (coming off close loss but has generally been all round impressive at an ebu type level), marquiz taylor (no power but crafty), maciej sulecki (former title contender, prob a bit past his best but no signs of being shot), steve rolls if he wins his upcoming fight (older but still giving good durable tests to hot prospects). there's heaney too if he wins his upcoming british title defense i suppos....

also in top 10 per boxrec, though i dont think really world elite fighters in reality: etinosa oliha and meiram nursultanov. have seen box and they are both guys who look more euro level than world level despite high boxrec rankings. nursultanov's fight vs a tough japanese guy is worth checking out for some fun

they could also bring in vincenzo gualtieiri as a recent former world titilist who is extremely beatable.. problem id have is that vinny, despite being a titilist with a decent win over falcao, was so utterly mortified vs janibek, i almost felt bad for him. i have a feeling he'd show up similar if brought to uk for sheeraz

I wouldn't mind seeing Cash in with him. Jury is out. He was basically on the same shit as Captain America when he fought Bentley

Sheeraz is being hailed as the 2nd coming, an English Tommy Hearns and a nailed on World Chanpion.

Who has the lad beaten? A totally shop worn blinking Williams who has seen far better days.

Throw him in with some tough Mexicans or game yanks and let's see how he handles being bullied, roughed up and pushed back.

Hopefully he is the real deal, but how many times have we seen "certain future world champions" crumble and fail at the first real test they face.

The lack of activity means that they have 2 fights a year and then after facing no real tests, people say they are ready for World Title fights.

Look at Conor Benn. Who has he beaten exactly? Nobody who the top 10 welterweight wouldn't have smashed up as well.

Hearn knows that Benn is way off the top.of the pack in that division, that's why he's looking at making fights at 160 lb and calling out 135lb fighters

Williams needs to wrap things up, immediately. Punch resistance long long gone unfortunately. I’d be happy enough with Sheeraz v Bentley next up, be a nice opportunity for Denzel to right the wrongs of the Heaney loss - I’d say the bookies would have Sheeraz a large favourite now but that may suit Bentley (coming in under the radar with less expectations, could suit being the perceived underdog).

The challenge of a Sheeraz might give Bentley the motivation he needs, plus outside of the Cash anomaly he has proved he is a pretty tough and has reasonable power, he’s one of the few fighters in the last 4/5 years not to be stopped by Janibek for example & he’s right up there in the weight class at world level, if not the pick at 160.

Sheeraz did his job Saturday but not sure too much can be taken from beating that version of Williams at all.
