Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Crease, I am throwing down the gauntlet here. I suggest you and I should step up and host "Clobberfest 1".......on the very first week, I am willing to put my two fighters against your two fighters in any which way you so choose. Now Goldenbuzz promotions is well aware of your history of ducking, shucking and jiving, yet somehow thriving. So just as a show of good faith, we will offer you redemption and re-education....face us, or run. It's your reputation.
Goldenbuzz has always stood for the best of the best in true sportsmanship. And we thought it would make for a good chuckle to see how fast you could run, right out of the shoot.
So. there...... take it, or leave it, ....on one hand embrace the pain, on the other hand embrace the shame. Notice we are saying this without even knowing who you will choose....that's how much faith we have in Bivins and Rosenbloom. The best of the best.
Choose wisely my friend.

You are a honourable manager NRS, a rare quality in The Sim.

Really Buzz? You want to start off with 2 Ls? I uppose we can make that happen for you, John Henry vs Slappy Rosenbloom and King Conn vs Jim "The Bin."BoxBuzz wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 16:27Crease, I am throwing down the gauntlet here. Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
If the above fight is agreed, the state of play will look as:
We may have to look at a three-way stable war - it's up to you gents.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Was going take on Gil's stable, but not really a problem for me....as we Ph33r no-one
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Gilgamesh how about Archie Moore vs Ezzard Charles and Bob Fitzsimmons vs Michael Moorer?
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
I advise caution, such fiery fights could heat up the computer, melt the software, and we'll have another ash heap on our hands. Perhaps you should consider an Archie Moore Reggie Strickland fight? I mean there are women and children to be considered. It's up to you, but that's a lot of heat your'e throwin' there. And Gilga....starts with a G.....that's G for general audiiences. I"m sure he'll avoid your stable. He's not really cut out for the rough and tumble vibe you are suggesting.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Remember Tommy won a lineal belt by winning the very first fight...?
His old mate Sugar Ray Leonard wants to fight him at Light Heavyweight.

If Gil and Techno meet up, that will leave Naz without any managed opponents, assuming I accepted my stable fight with P4P1.
I propose following:
Langford vs Loughran as P4P1 suggested.
Foster would offer a fight to Harold Johnson.
That would take care of my guys.
The third matchup would be Tunney (Naz) vs Greb (P4P1), which would complete the week.
If those managers are satisfied with that lineup, consider me in. Everybody would be facing a managed fighter. Or if some change up there of the fights, we could figure it out.

Or if Naz and Gil meet up, the last three managers can iron something out that seems like feasible fights for everybody.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Nice idea Geto, if the guys are agreeable. They can have their say, of course:
Could be:
Langford (Geto) vs Loughran (P4P1)
Foster (Geto) vs Johnson
Tunney vs Greb (P4P1)
Or something like:
Charles (Gil) vs Johnson
Tunney vs Moorer (Techno)
Moore (Techno) vs Fitzsimmons (Gil)
I am ok, either way but happy to switch it around, if anyone wants.

Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Once this is sorted out and we have all managed fighters with fights, I will begin.
FYI....I do intend to include activity between many of the pool fighters. This shall be at my whim.....however IF you have suggestions, I'm happy to include them.
This pool activity will only take place as long as the software stays afloat. If we must turn to A.I. we will focus only on managed fighters. Though the entire pool of fighters will remain "draftable" for your fighters to call upon. Pool fighters are not allowed to decline a fight. However, they will not be allowed to fight more than one managed fighter in any given week.
I'm not always going to be quick or thorough in terms of seeing all suggestions. Please don't be offended if I don't include your suggestion. However I do love the input, and likely will include them to the degree that I can, based on my own attention span, and the time I have to set up and run fights.
Oh and the matching of pool fights will never appear at the top of the page where we log all the managed fights carefully.
Though I do see that Crease has a lineal title Headlined. So that shall be included in this weeks events.
Crease, were one of those fighters ACTUALLY the champ at the end of the last LHW season? Just curious.

Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
I can't help but feel Tunney as the #3 overall pick should be facing someone who was taken in the first round rather than a second rounder.NazNaci1 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 20:27 Nice idea Geto, if the guys are agreeable. They can have their say, of course:

Good sporting demands that to keep the spirit of the opening event alive that all fighters should be evenly matched and fighting someone within their draft class.

We will accept the fights as suggested on the basis that if Greb is to win then at any point in the season Bond-Packer wish we can sign Tunney and in return, Naz will be free to sign the fighter whos contract we decide to tear up.
If Naz does not want to agree to this we propose the following.
Langford vs Johnson - We are calling it the battle of the 74" reach. It doesn't get more even than having the same reach. Sam is even willing to give up a height advantage. That is how fair and sporting he is.
Greb vs Moorer - A middleweight taking on one of the biggest hitting LHWs and lineal world HW champ. Severely outsized can the little man put in an all time performance and beat the HW champion?
Loughran v Tunney - This will allow Tunney to put off meeting an elite black fighter for another week.
Moore v Charles - It can't get bigger than #1 v #2
Foster v Fitzsimmons - Both smaller men with tremendous power who were able to carry their power up in weight but not their punch resistance.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
I'm a little bummed that my 2 main rivals already have their dance cards filled up this week, but I'm willing to take on Naz's guys or Techno's or whoever the hell else needs a fight made for the week.
NazNaci seems like the right choice for Week 1 for me considering we were right next to each other in the draft order.
But seeing as how we all 3 need to match up our guys. I'm willing to match up my guys in whatever bout necessary to see to it we all get a paycheck this week.
Whatever matchup is preferable between Naz and Techno. You guys decide amongst yourselves. Ezzard Charles and Bob Fitzsimmons are willing to face anybody.

Even though Langford is #4 pick, in the spirit of getting things done, Mr Johnson is willing to over look this attempt at a 'gimme' and is happy to run with the above.
Mr Tunney would have preferred to have faced Charles, as they (him and Johnson) wanted a match up with Gil's stable but as we would have and odd one out, we had to consider alternatives. Tunney vs Charles and Johnson vs Fitzsimmons was the choice.
You do a disservice to Loughran, however, an elite tremendous fighter, P4P1, as the season passes, he will more than hold his own.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Those matchups listed above got my guys are acceptable. Deep division and only 9 managers, any managed matchup will be a tough out.
Re: LHW SEASON WEEK 1 MATCHUPS *Open*
Well no... But The Hitman did put Jimmy McLarnin away in the first fight since the return, so the lineage has been established...BoxBuzz wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 21:54Oh and the matching of pool fights will never appear at the top of the page where we log all the managed fights carefully.
