Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
This fight has been mooted for years, but it finally seems like the two biggest talents in the British light-heavyweight scene are the next obstacle in each other's path.
Who are you backing for the win?
I was Buatsi all the way up until how much heart Yarde showed against Buatsi.

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
Buatsi is a proper fighter and has taken on some good tests.
Yarde is only interested in taking a real fight if a world title is on the line, but I'll be glad to be proven wrong

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
not seeing this next for them - needs building and JB loses big style for me so the $$$$ has to be there .
Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
Buatsi by a fiddly decision. Don't think Yarde can stop him.

Far too early for them both. Needs building further: beat to wait until they both need Zimmer frames to walk. That will be the perfect time! allegedly will make it happen when the time is right!

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
True. But DDD Vs Joyce was an in house fight so easy to make. Groves was with Hayemaker at the time they had no shows so generally he fought on other promotions.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑15 Feb 2024, 15:57he's made fights early on before tho, DDD Joyce, Degale Grovesblack panther wrote: ↑15 Feb 2024, 14:11 Far too early for them both. He did also make Hatton- Magee which was a good competitive fight to make but again an in house fight so easy to make.
Cross promotion fights always difficult and don't have much faith in that strange young man running BOXXER.
Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
We'd be wise to remember W@rren completely misjudged DDD's chances against Joyce.
Matching someone with DeGale's potential against then dangerman Groves was an out & out rarity.
Let's not let the Barry Hearn off the hook either....a great example of how W@rren & Hearn ruin British boxing was the Light middleweight division in the latter part of the 1990s.
There were a plethora of exciting fights to make at the optimum time, but in reality few were made.

Only betfair and paddy power have this priced up. They cant split them, both go 10/11 both men.
Hope it happens next.
Still fancy Yarde to win, he's had a very odd career, but i do like watching him. Find buatsi generally is a bit more passive, think yarde would have stopped Azeez the other night.

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
Will Shalom allow this one to happen? Isn't Buatsi the mandatory for someone?

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
Yarde wouldn't have taken the fight with Azeez. Anthony's records bears that out.
Yarde's only prepared to take a shellacking when a world title is up for grabs.

I’m thinking Buatsi has a bit about him. Needs to get his skates on though.

Aye, maybe. That in itself might say something. Strikes me as type who struggles to go through the gears anyway.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑18 Feb 2024, 09:33Buatsi chose not toBigdogsnose wrote: ↑18 Feb 2024, 04:37 Find buatsi generally is a bit more passive, think yarde would have stopped Azeez the other night.
Think he might need to stop yarde, or at least do enough to make yarde gas.

Re: Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi
Buatsi seems a very kind soul for boxing. i've mentioned it before but he once paid for the medical/licence for a boxer, who he did not know, after hearing them mention the cost. It only came out as the boxer mentioned it.
I liked him after that. Just a very kind thing to do for another human being.
I've messaged him saying I need my gyno cutting out as I keep tripping over it.
I haven't really....

Have you tried calling out Seldon?
Yarde has poor footwork and telegraphs his overhand, but he is dangerous in exchanges. Buatsi wins this quite easily for me if he stays long and paces himself for points.

Just checking the records out of interest, and I can't see any combination of Nobles, Gaines or Dixon? Missed opportunity for Cedric Kushner.
