Carl Froch vs James DeGale

Post by EdwardRevolver1993 »

If Froch wouldn't have retired in early 2015, he'd have probably faced DeGale, who was his IBF mandatory. That fight was discussed, but never came to fruition.

Who would've won?

Probably Carl but it’s not an easy one for him. Degale was good at that time.

Froch by 7-8 round stoppage and he deals with Degale better than Groves.....

.......Carl was a very hard-nut physically and mentally, but he also constantly pressed/punched in every round in a way that Degale never-ever liked throughout his career and was possibly his biggest-key weakness.

Froch keeps on coming - and yeah he gets caught, misses shots, drops a round or two - but there are never any breaks for Degale and when he does want to take a round off he's getting hit flush. And Froch ain't backing off.

Groves was more tricky for Froch, good speed and movement like James, but George fought three minute rounds and they came back-to-back. Degale never seemed able to do this and that's a huge problem with Froch always in your face.

Froch by knockout in the middle rounds
I thought between 7-9 when I posted.
I can see Degale winning rounds though and maybe the scorecards being close before Froch breaks through.

For me it is just Froch's strength, work-rate and that he hit plenty hard and often.
He also had a granite chin and was awkward to work out.......only Ward really broke the code.

I don’t think Carl stops him. James knew how to get rough himself and he was never stopped either. I remember the Jack fight when he sucked it up and came back at Jack.
