He's already opened the door, gone inside and closed it. Usyk holds all but one of the belts including the Ring and he's #1 with BoxRec and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. Luke is #4 with BoxRec, only holds the WBC title and Lennox Lewis is the lineal champion. Ain't no banging on the door.

Oh don't get me wrong - I don't think his performances have been breathtaking in any of his fights really at Heavyweight, but stylistically he is a relatively small Cruiserweight, quite a bit the wrong side of 30 and style wise probably not suited to the heavyweight game. The fact he is a unified world champion shows that 1 - How blooming good he was in his pomp at Cruiserweight 2 - How shit the Heavyweight division is.

He is a "thinking" fighter with a great defence but with a tendency to gradually pick it up as he is going one - often in the low gears, feeling his opponent and then gradually breaking their spirit. Not really a good style when you are much the smaller guy. Very different to say an Evander Holyfield who had a great engine and had the capacity to out work you from the off - which was much more suited against the bigger heavyweights.

The fact Usyk also hasn't really become remotely close to losing at Heavyweight is also something - sorry I thought he lost 2 rounds vs Chisora at best and the Dubois thing WAS low (it is so funny no hearing Eddie Hearn agree with his new BFF that it is not low) and he again pretty much won every round there also.

My current trail of thought is “Fast Car” could be right in his latest sales pitch… AJ will fight for the undisputed Title.

I am totally convinced Fury is way past his best. Which means we will see AJ fight Uysk for a
3rd time.
