Why are threads getting locked?

Post by handsofstone »

Don't think I've even posted in the Joshua/Ngannou thread but regardless mods shouldn't be locking theads on one of the biggest fights of the year and telling people they've discussed it enough, no the first time it's happened either

If there's anything offensive fair enough I'd be lying if I'd said Id read all of it but back and forth between a handful of posters resulting in us all being barred from posting is out of order, if master G wants to pull up the offenders fair enough but don't piss off the majority because a minority are having too and fro, it's a boxing forum ffs

The post in question I locked it as there seems to be a bit of bitching going on. Anyway, I've been over ruled so crack on!

The one i know of being locked was due to me being a nob towards Spud which was uncalled for. So can understand why it was locked.

Belated sorry Spud. Not acceptable.

The reason I locked it was because I didn't want things to escalate and forum friends fall out.

As I say it's been reopened. As for locking topics I'm going to give that a miss from now on. I'll keep my eyes on the cyber scammers instead so y'all will be safe from worms and Trojans.

While were on it, i'd add dont merge multiple different threads all into one master thread, it takes the forum buzz away. I cant be doing with any thread that has tons of pages to it. Different angles need to be openly discussed, multiple threads on a fight/event/matter are usually a good thing.

I'll tell you the story one day of how I first met Spud, and the interaction we had when I started writing for Eastside boxing, - believe me, you won't feel as bad about it all.

Eh spud?

Are you being serious James? I find it staggering you are still trying to score points of events that took place something like 15 years ago. If you are still bitter and twisted about it seek help.

You were known for making excellent contributions for Eastside, and it’s thanks to me you have gone being an excellent writer about our great sport. Instead of slagging me off , get on your hands and knees and thank me for giving you a break😉😉😉😀

In all seriousness James you are an excellent writer … thank you for your contributions

I was only having a laugh Spud, as i hope you well lnow, certainly no hard feelings on my part.

I think its more than 20 years ago now!!

Ive been toying with the idea of writing a book about Danny Williams, doubt there would be that much money in it, but hes an intruiging character, a man who best Tyson and fought for the heavyweight title who never even wanted to beva fighter.

I am hoping people don’t hold grudges because I see no reason why “ the old school posters” and the new ones can’t make a huge success of this place.

I am going on a campaign to encourage boxing personalities to visit this place and make it as busy as it once was ….

One of the ideas and I am not sure whether it will work here .. Q& A plus interviews … but have them on the British Forum at a specified time. I introduced this on David Hayes Twitter page and it increased his popularity big time.

At the early stage .. I can’t do visual interviews because my speech is f*cked and I have an extremely bad tremor so the visual interviews are a no go.

Thoughts please

Why?

No one is forcing you to read the thread.

You will be surprised at the impact this place had, still has and there is no reason why the British forum couldn’t be the go to place.
