I liked watching Oba Carr.
Shit out of luck that his challenges for world titles came against Ike Quartey, De La Hoya and Trinidad :KO:

good shout, think he is going to fight again now he is out. Remember his stopping the tall Brit for the interim title

I have a feeling he would have given Billy a run for his money if Billy wasn't switched on. He absolutely gave it to Langford who wasn't bad

I had no idea. Just went down a rabbit hole researching his brothers death & his spiral into drug use & prison sentence, Very sad.

Love Allotey
Floyd Robertson
Roy Ankrah

In about three years' time, I should have a book on them and a few more globetrotting Ghanaians from 1950s to early 1970s who paved the way for David Poison Kotey and Azumah Nelson. What those guys went through is ridiculous. Will post a bit more about it in a few months.

On the subject of boxers who look like people you wouldn’t dare f yck with.

Sergei Khomitsky.

Knocked Adam Etches into next week. Screamed at the crowd. Needless to say nobody from the crowd jumped up to call him a c unt.

I'm liking Fray Bentos' shout....Bernard Taylor :OhYes:

A wonderfully skilled boxer. Possibly Barry McGuigan's best win.

Not foreign to me, but definitely a shout to the Tuaman.
Truly a wonderful man, probably too nice for the evils of the boxing game, and Kevin 'bloody' Barry.

Romanov, there is a good blast from the past. He retired young (31), anyone know why? Had 3 years off after Thaxton fight too.

loved one of him, freakish punching power. And not tall yet could spark people half a foot taller than him. Good am too, medalled at Worlds and Olympics whilst still a teenager. Hope he's doing well now.
