Ngannou was an easy night for AJ and a difficult one for Fury. Have your opinions changed?

Not really for me.

I still think Fury would beat AJ but I’ve never been someone to say it’s an easy win for Fury. It wouldn’t surprise me if AJ caught him and knocked him out.

We’ve seen when Fury isn’t properly prepared what can happen and that proved to be the case against Ngannou. He wasn’t focused either when he fought Steve Cunningham but found a way to win.

I think Fury was better but has had his day. I’m not sure he can get into the shape required to beat AJ anymore

AJ v Fury has always been about confidence. Fury, like Ali or Mike Tyson has been able to get under his opponents skin in the pre fight build up. AJ is growing in confidence and may not be susceptible to Fury's antics?

Stopping Ngannou counts for little on paper, he is after all a one bout professional. Mentally it's a huge lift for AJ and a negative for Fury who if nothing else will have no doubts that AJ carries the power to trouble him.

My monies still on Fury for a late rounds stoppage.

opinion of joshua is exactly the same, did what any half decent heavyweight should have done against a clueless, stationary target. as for fury, i considered him to be vastly overrated long before he boxed the cage fighter, his stock has plummeted since then. he struggled to a SD win against, got beaten up and floored by the same zero fight novice that was poleaxed in 2 rounds on friday night. in fact, you can even argue joshua fought a better version of ngannou, considering he had 10 rounds of pro boxing under his belt, which wasnt the case against fury. tyson being in poor condition, overconfident and with no discernible strategy is no kind of mitigation, either, because, firstly, failing to prepare still highlights his shortcomings as a fighter, and secondly, it shouldnt have made a blind bit of difference, seeing how inept francis was this past weekend, id expect any decent british level pro to roll right over ngannou, with a fortnights notice.

I've always thought Fury knew exactly how to beat AJ, but now I don't think he can execute the plan.

yes a little :

AJ boxing as expected vs wallin and ngannou .

Fury on the other hand couldnt deal with a " novice " in the words of peter fury .
He wasnt in camp seriously if at all / overweight etc and all the slick moves his followers talk about didnt help him stay off the canvass .
Question marks over his punch resistance / ability to force the pace and impose himself even against a guy who gets beat by any top 20 HW even the crap ones .

Rather than change my opinion of fury`s ability and level it only confirms what I already knew - over hyped and who has he really beaten .

Even if Fury has slipped as much as it appears, a lot still would depend on AJ's mindset if they fought. If Joshua went back to being the 'thinking' boxer (i.e. ponderous and tentative as fvck) then he could easily end up getting outpointed in a stinker. But if he went out with the sole intention of a ko, I could see him walking through this version of Fury.

You cannot help but think after the Ngganou fight and numerous rumours of a bad training camp and the cut that If Fury is shot to pieces.

I am convinced that AJ would blastl Fury into retirement… problem is Usyk will get to Fury first

Not much has changed in terms of ability, but it enforced who is far more professional (which is obviously AJ).

I originally thought AJ would be able to KO Fury - then after the Wilder fights for Fury and the Ruiz fights for Aj changed my mind in thinking Fury would be too clever and be able to assert his size and strength over AJ to get the win.

However with hindsight now I see that those he physically dominated were subsequently proved to be mediocre level, and when faced with a physically strong guy Furys gameplan were practically eliminated.

Ngannou didn`t look physically stronger than AJ in the brief 2 rounds they fought. And if a novice Ngannou and a crude Wilder can land punches to put Fury over then the superior AJ will easily be able to land and put Fury over ... and AJ is a world class finisher too so Fury is very unlikely to walk it off.

AJ would demolish Fury now - but that fight is never going to happen now. Fury has avoided the smaller Usyk for years for fear of losing on points - no way Fury fights AJ knowing he would be on AJs KO-reel forever.

I always had the opinion that fury was a fraud. This backs it up.

Not for me re Fury, I think Fury will be in shape and a different fighter vs Usyk, I've no idea if he can beat him though.

AJ yes, really does seem to have learned and harnessed his pure punching ability with more measure.

I really hope we get to see them fight.
