Any record of Oscar De La Hoya? In his book "American son - my story" he mentions his record as 228 fights with 5 losses. The losses that are mentioned are to Shane Mosley, Pepe Reilly, Ruben Espinoza and Marco Rudolph. In BoxRec they have him as 41-1 at the moment.

i recall reading years ago from melani lei (an amateur ref in cali) that she had his official passbook/had seen it, and verified the 223-5 record. think he had tons of fights as a little kid that are probably hard to track

Hmmm... I remember reading that The Golden Boy had over a hundred wins in the amateurs and just the one lost (which he apparently revenged multiple times) - he was seen as "the next big thing" hence the ring name...

no he has multiple verified losses. 2 to mosely , 1 to a german in the world championships, and a couple more
