Heaney found his level a rematch wouldn't be a bad shout. Done well to survive last 2 rounds

Pleased the judges gave this as a draw. Neither deserved to lose that fight.

Cant split them, 114-114, tremendous fight swung back and forth, Heaney sharper out the blocks but Pauls came into things, dangerous with that right hand and they leaping lefts to the head and body, had Heaney reeling in the 8th and 11th rounds, how he never went down I'll never know, incredible set of stones, he showed a lot of heart to pull out the draw on my card, he's fit as a fiddle as well Heaney, his work lacked quality but he landed his fair share, Pauls raised his game and earned a rematch, brilliant watch

Might be a Saudi rematch for them .

Heaney British level, but we already knew that , he's going to get ironed out throwing with someone one day .

Comms were terrible all night, Woodhall and Fletch, too focused on the home fighters disregarded work from Pauls, Strand and Zeuge, even when Cooper battered James the whole fight all they talked about was Ethan James, Cooper has fought on Warren's shows a few times now but they treated him like an export whose upsetting the local lad, trash

Brilliant fight. Thought Pauls was let down by the ref a bit and the commentators must have got caught up in the atmosphere. I thought Pauls edged it but if you listened to those 2, you would have thought he was getting hammered.

I'd watch that again no bother.

aye, let's just hope Zhang was his kryptonite. He was really honest in interviews saying no chance would he fight him again - has not claimed bad luck, injury or divine intervention. Honest guy is Joe.
Yeah, Joe is a really nice guy. My friend has met him because he works with Joe’s mum. I think he’s got a brother who is exactly the same size
His brother is tiny. Looks 11 stone. Or less. He’s some rapper I think. Unless I have the wrong photo. Was on insta

Doubt it will be Saudi, a rematch would sell a lot of tickets for a fight that is of no real worldwide significance. It has to be in front of a crowd here.

Don't bet on it , if the lads get a chance to make top dollar they'll do it and the Turkey geezer seems to know British fighters very well . It was a great watch and he's got his finger in the pulse.

Popping backwards and forwards to Saudi to hand deliver tickets could be problematic for Heaney's preparation.

As well as singing My Delilah to a bunch of over-rich and mainly disinterested Saudi oil barons.

Actually seeing a good British crowd at boxing last night made me realise how gash the Saudi experience is in comparison

Yeah I turned in after the Liam Davis fight. Just watching the replay on TNT this morning. Thankfully they’re showing the Davis fight, as well as highlights of Nathan Heaney. ( wisely not Joes fight )

I really like fletch on commentary, I think he’s gonna be one of the best around. Yeah I’m sure it was a bit biased. I was watching highlights so probably overlooked that…guess it’s all subjective isn’t it…

Blatant house ref with the gumshield shenanigans, letting the corner take forever when Nate was in big trouble. Frank will definitely be inviting that ref back …probably not the two judges that scored a draw though

The brain donor ref in the Davis fight was lucky, he said walk towards me..The guy staggers...and he waves Davis in for the kill. Luckily he didn’t land anything too damaging.

And rinse it in the middle of the ring?

Or take it back to the cornerman for him to hold the spit bucket up so nothing will get on the canvas?

Do it middle of the ring so the canvas gets soaked and both keep slipping

This was a really good night of boxing from W@rren :TU:

Exciting British middleweight title fight between Heaney and Pauls. Fair play to both fighters for putting on a great battle :salut:

The ref was very poor in the 8th or 9th round stopping the action to replace Heaney's gum shield :shame: That was hardly a lull in the action and Pauls had Heaney in all sorts of bother.

As disappointed as Heaney was with the draw at least he retained his British title. If I was Nathan I'd stick to defending the British title and try and win a Lonsdale belt outright or if a European or even a world title shot presents itself...take it !

Not a vintage performance from Joyce but got the job done...eventually. Joe's incredible ability to soak up punches looks fine after being shattered by Zhang. As shite as Ali is, he can bang with the right hand.

Joe was playing with Kash at times, but Joyce didn't look in tip-top shape. The best thing that could happen for Joyce is being out again in the next 2 or 3 months so he can sharpen up.

Good win for McCann claiming the British title against a good, ambitious & undefeated opponent. Dennis needs to stay grounded and not run before he can walk because in time he could definitely go further.

Liam Davies is on a serious run of form and his accuracy was pinpoint in dispatching Robles. Lethal finishing :box:

I'm having doubts about how much further Zack Parker can go now. Since running into Ryder he's looking more shaky and world class looks like it will be a bridge too far :maybe:

agree with this. I don't think Zach is going to make it further. And I agree re getting Joe out again quickly.
