Wbo punched Danny Jacobs into next week. Beat up gennady martirosyan. Dropped his title to fight ggg then his back went badly.

I know, I debated about including him as at the time the WBO title was lightly regarded, and Mercer gave it up as it was hampering his career.

Juan Domingo Roldan.

Had a soft spot for Choi. Very tough and rugged fighter who plenty avoided during his prime.

I'll also nominate this chap - https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/8479 - world top-ten ranked for a while in the first half of the 1960s, possibly among the most well-travelled of any fighters, although he obviously lost interest in some of his fights after around 1965-66 or so. Anyone who can stick Laguna on the floor twice and beat plenty of contenders clearly knows what he is doing.

Fights tomorrow on the undercard of the Danny "I had two great years 12 years ago" Garcia bill.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑10 Mar 2024, 18:16deffo, good to watch too. Khurtsidze has only lost one bout in the last twenty years. I'm assuming he's angling for a Supermiddle shot but he's fighting a bloke who's 6-4 & is no spring chicken.
And talking of Garcia, I think it's his farewell fight. I don't think I've seen too many fighters go from his fantastic run in 2011-13 to pretty mediocre afterwards. His run of Kendall Holt (I was there for that one), Erik Morales, Amir Khan, Morales again, Judah & then Matthysse - who was being viewed as a monster at that time - was fantastic. Then he never really reached anything close to that again. A tough fighter. I hope he has a nice life post boxing career.

Mario Martinez for his challenges to Chavez and Azumah Nelson. The amount of punishment he took and kept firing back
Chavez basically tenderized Martinez for 8 rounds and he pushed Nelson all the way in both challenges to him.

Emmanuel Augustin.
One of my favourite human beings.
I would love to know how he's doing now. He got shot in the head a few years back.
