Evening people, hope everyone had a good bank holiday. I've enjoyed watching more of the build up to this today. I've spent the day chopping a tree down to save paying a tree surgeon. In other news, I now fully understand why people pay tree surgeons.....
Haha , nice one Sean
Did exactly the same a few years ago, cut down a eucalyptus tree taller my house with a Screwfix electric chainsaw, my neighbour behind must have thought what is that twat up to now in his wellies up the big tree.
Did it though and it kept our wood burner going for a good while a year later.

I forgot this is on on a Sunday.
I bloody hate Sunday boxing.
It should be Saturday night , or not at all .
Friday is good too, Tbf. Used to be a real pain in the arse when I used to go to York hall for a lot of if Tuesday cards. Still at least I got to see Matt Skelton several times
Every decent fight was either on a Tuesday or Wednesday when I started going, ultra rare for a Saturday night, can only think Minter v Hagler and Watt v Arguello on a Saturday and Sunday's ultra. ultra rare with Bruno v Bonecrusher the only time I remember going on a Sunday
They were on sportsnight back in the day with Harry Carpenter at the helm .
Bloody good days .
I've got Wardley TKO/KO on this. he's no Mayweather, but he's tough and bangs. the Ipswich Wilder. If it goes the distance he'll struggle to win, but I think he'll catch Clarke enough times to finish it before the 12th. Will be interesting to see if he's hit his level or whether he's still improving with Davison in there helping out (Davison fighters experiencing a revival etc and what not)
He's another (like Dubios) who has an underated jab...when he uses it.

I thought he was the Call Centre Cassius

hahaha you legend. My pal Erv who showed me how to do it as said for me to get a wood burner and do the same, there is much wood! My back is paying for it today, hobbly Saturday and I've helped my daughter at an event she was volunteering at showing Alpacas at an event and I got stuck with the naughty one who has been yanking me about all day. I swear he was laughing at me.

I'm not as up on everything as some of you gents on here. So I'm asking for some help...
I'm a fan of both boxers. As fighters and men. They represent some of the best aspects of the sport in their own ways.
But how can an Olympic medalist be 2/1?
Those odds seem way off to me. Is there something I missed? Does the market know something I don't?
Why is Wardley so favoured?
I see this as more 50-50. Tell me why I'm wrong.
Wardley has impressed and overachieved while Clarke has not looked impressive and looks like he could underachieve. In recent years, Erik Pfeifer and Majidov are two fairly successful amateurs who didn't get close to Wardley's level in the pros. Then you can add Tony Yoka who I think would be a heavy underdog against Wardley. It's probably closer than the odds suggest but I don't think Clarke's amateur pedigree plays a massive part in this.

Good summation
It's a low level pro trajectory for Clarke up until this fight. Dunno why, he should have been going for the British in his 4/5th fight after a few 8-10 rounders, he's already done 6 rounds.

I’m with you. I don’t get it at all.
I think a lot of it stems from people overrating the Gorman & Adeleye wins.
Gorman was obese & has since lost on points to a journeyman & Adeleye lost to a journeyman but got the decision & hasn’t beaten anyone of note.
I think Clarke could end up winning this due to injury to Wardley. Wardley’s tough & game but he takes a lot of flush shots & I can see him getting cut or a swelling from accumulation.
The big question is Clarke’s engine. I’ve no doubt he’ll outbox Wardley early on but it’s whether he can maintain the pace or not. If he can then he wins for me.
I'm going Wardley by stoppage 7-8. He's been tested through fire already. I love Big Fraser as a human, but I don't think he's got the stomach for this. Fabio has already overachieved, and I don't think he's done yet even if he wins tonight

I am a Wardley fan. But in his big wins (and others) he was often rocked. I love that he came back. Will follow is career until he retires. But Clarke seems a different beast to me. If Fraz hurts him I think there's a different outcome.
My doubts about Clarke come from his limited stamina tied to his relatively cautious boxing. When you're mindful of energy conservation and not fast, you need a special something he doesn't have at the highest level.
Wardley has a fun history of coming alive once hurt, so I won't be surprised if Clarke pulls an early lead if their output's low, but I fancy Wardley to finish the stronger unless he's hurt.

Again.... 2/1 ???
I can make a case for Wardley winning. But...
2/1 is great value for Clarke.
While I'm picking Wardley, I see it as a 50-50 with many ways it can go.
2-1 Clarke is great value and worth a tenner a day long
