Does anyone know what kind of amateur record he had? I've read that he had an amateur career, but there's nothing listed on BoxRec?

not a record per se but some info from 2019 that refers to him boxing for 13 years before he turned over https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/artic ... rs-in-ring

Steve Goodwin has been on the Boxing News George Groves podcast today mentioning this fight, saying Simpson sells so many tickets it's likely to be in his hometown. So we might see Boxing in Barnsley, or at least South Yorkshire.

Callum’s local to me. I’ve seen him box when he was still at school age.

He’s in a rush, he’s massive for the weight & wants title shots & activity.

I believe he’ll dominate Chelli. I am biased but I do think he’s a level above.

I’ve no idea whether he’s telling the truth or not but he was apparently very competitive in the Berterbiev spars & has been over sparring him more than once
