Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke | Sky Sports - 31 March 2024
Seems very close to a true 50-50 to me.
Wardly can be a bit wilder-esk, look bad then bam (vs Gorman for example he looked trash till bam). Molina too if I remember correctly… if wardly starts of easy to hit like in those fights it will be interesting to see if fraze can don’t him early…
Fraze looks pretty mediocre often. But I think that’s cause people forget how big he is. 266lb in shape is a biggg boy.
Very curious fight for me. Part of me thinks wardly will ding him at some point. Part of me thinks wardly will walk into somthing early… Another part wonders “does Frazer have the size and class to just keep wardly at the end of a jab and out point him”
Just don’t know. My vibe says wardly will win, but looking at paths to victory my brain says fraze…

I think Frazer's got more than enough of that elite-level amateur skillset to set traps which Wardley will fall into. Question is what happens when he does, because he can really fight when hurt (so far anyway).gregregegg wrote: ↑30 Mar 2024, 19:42

And while I see it as a 50-50, I reckon the fight will be won convincingly, just dunno by who!!

What time do we think the main course will be on tomorrow? Coverage starts on Sky at 6 so I guess it's earlier than a Saturday night card?

Hope Mike Goodall finds the ring in time, apparently his van with some of the ring was nicked last night

Most of the boxing shows have been on Sky showcase since Boxxer came in. They do it to increase the ratings so people can't point to ratings dropping since Boxxer got the gig.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑31 Mar 2024, 05:35 Surprised to see this is on sky showcase. Blimey, it never crossed my mind that this could be PPV. I guess nothing should surprise me in boxing these days though.Controversial wrote: ↑31 Mar 2024, 11:24Cheers for that, I thought it was a PPV too, I have Sky Showcase as wellfunso banjo baby wrote: ↑31 Mar 2024, 05:35 Surprised to see this is on sky showcase. Guess it will be more like 10.30 now. Annoying as it did say 9.30 on Sky Sports.

Yeah there's only 10 minutes left in this one and it's not even 9:10 yet. They aint gonna pause for an hour before the main.

A great fight in terms of it being compulsive viewing - Wardley looked spent and ready to go, but when he opened up Clarke was buzzed and disoriented.
But it was somewhat disappointing when assessing whether either could push on from domestic honours to world level. On that showing both fighters look limited.

Re: Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke | Sky Sports - 31 March 2024
well, there are things to work on for sure
wardley gassed too early and spent about half the fight as a floppy spaghetti man
clarke showed almost no 2nd gear and despite all the time wardley was gassed rarely put it on him for a sustained period. he also looked stung whenever wardley, even when completely exhausted, landed any half decent series of shots
that said, they have their strengths too and i think both of them would beat the winner of the upcoming euro title fight. but i'd agree it didnt look a fight to put any world level fighter on notice

Agreed mate, particularly regarding their stamina issues.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Apr 2024, 04:07 well, there are things to work on for sure
