Mick was having a few pints at the bar - went over to say hello and that one of his cards at Ally Pally was the first I went to (Walker Vs Karmizin), we chatted for about 5 mins and he was such a nice and genuine guy.
The Punchbowl (appropriately enough!).

I know boxing is murky at the best of times, but wasn’t Mick at one point alleged to be a frontman for other figures with questionable backgrounds in boxing?

I am seriously considering it. But would the lawyers get in the way. One chapter would be about PEDs 1 prominent boxer I am sure about and a couple other maybes.

good to hear Spud. I suspect a good publisher would help you navigate the legal minefield mate.

If I did a book, it would have lots of interesting yarns but overall it would be an incredibly sad story of a person totally driven to be accepted

I have some outrageous tales of my younger days of my dad dieing on fathers day 1973, striving to
Survive vicious bullies at boarding school. Not wanting to go home because my mother was a pRanpid scitzophenic. Joining the army at 16., my journey in boxing being diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 49, my amazing journey in boxing

I think you should do it Spud. Controversy is good. PEDs ? Maybe have a PM with Sean. He knows his gravy there. You don’t need to name names. With what you going thru healthwise, try to do a book with a friend. Anecdotes, the bs, the thankless work. Might be cathartic.

Yes, I can attest to that, when I wrote Charlie Magris book, there were lots of parts redacted, because of his stories about treatment by various promoters and managers over the years.

What I will say, is he said he was treated far better by Warren than anybody else he ever worked for.

Hope you enjoy it. Was a real hard job, but really enjoyed sitting with charlie watching his old fights together. Spent 6 months going to his pub 2-3 times a week to interview him, then another 4 months typing it up, and editing. Had a full time job too, by the end i was totally exhausted, just made the deadline for publishing in time for xmas.

Any accusations like that would never get approved by a publisher, as theyd be liable for litigation, and if you self publish you could be totally ruined financially.
