Terence Crawford vs Paul Williams

Post by EdwardRevolver1993 »

At one point, Paul Williams was a WBO Interim titlist at 154. In light of Crawford moving up to 154 and being named WBO mandatory, I decided to come up with this match-up.

Now, the difficulty here is that we haven't seen Crawford performing at 154 yet. But it seems like people more or less believe that Terence does well against likes of Fundora, Tszyu and others.

So, let's fantasize. Crawford moving up and fighting Williams.

How it goes?

I see this overhand left from the southpaw stance landing a lot, too. However, it was only Martinez who was able to separate Williams from his senses with it. Otherwise, Williams usually took a good shot. Lara and Quintana landed that left hand at will, as well. Paul withstood those shots and kept coming.

All in all, interesting thing is that on the top level, Spence fight was the only one where Crawford barely lost a round and dominated at will. Porter, Kavaliauskas, Benavidez, even Brook had some success and were able to win rounds from Bud.

I don't know whether it's a style thing or Crawford was as dialed in against Errol as he never was before. Some, of course, might point out that "Spence wasn't 100%" and etc.

Regardless of your final prediction for Crawford-Williams, how competetive do you think Williams would've been against Bud before it's over?

Very. Williams is awkward and aggressive and would win some rounds especially early

Crawford is a much better puncher than quintana and lara. Hes a better all around fighter than any of these guys

I think, I agree with all that. I also think Crawford would've tested William's ribs. Somehow, not a lot of people tried to work tall Paul's body. Terence would've definitely gone for that body, IMO.
